Chapter 14

Alexander Lowell’s phone had rung countless times, but he barely glanced at the screen. As long as it wasn’t Cynthia’s

name, he didn’t bother picking up.

Right now, there was only one thing that mattered-getting to Riverport City.

He pulled every string he could and expedited a private flight clearance. Within the hour, he was aboard his jet, headed straight for the one place he dreaded-and needed-to be.

Back at the ruined wedding venue, Morinne Ayla clutched her phone in despair. No matter how many times she dialed,

Alexander wouldn’t pick up. Neither would Cynthia.

Just then, a news alert popped up on her screen.

“Riverport’s richest family, the Traceys, host a grand wedding with a mysterious bride-her identity will shock you!”

Morinne’s eyes locked on the blurred photo. She recognized her instantly.

Cynthia Aquil. Cynthia had gotten married.

“Hah… she got married?” Morinne laughed, wild and hysterical. “Great! Best thing ever! Alexander Lowell, you’ve lost your

chance now. You’ll still be mine!”

Tears of heartbreak turned into shrieks of triumph.

So what if the wedding was a disaster? As long as she still held the title of Mrs. Lowell, no one would dare mock her. Not

to her face.

She hummed a cheerful tune as she changed outfits and packed up. She was flying to Riverport.

To witness Cynthia’s wedding with her own eyes.

Meanwhile, in Riverport City, the wedding was already in full swing.

The moment the news broke, Cynthia and Nathan were midway through exchanging vows.

It was a breathtaking event-so grand it stirred envy in every heart present.

Even Cynthia’s gown drew whispers of awe: a one-of-a-kind masterpiece designed by a reclusive European couturier. High

society had fought tooth and nail for it, but the Tracey family had secured it long ago-no one else stood a chance.

Under a canopy of blessings and love, Cynthia lifted the hem of her dress and walked toward Nathan.

His tailored white suit gave him an air of elegant refinement, his gentle eyes shimmering like starlight. He smiled at her,

soft and warm.

Cynthia’s heart stuttered.

The sounds of the world seemed to hush as their eyes met, leaving only the steady rhythm of their breaths and the rapid beating of two hearts.

“Cynthia, will you marry me?”

Nathan’s voice was low and earnest. He extended his hand, palm open, waiting.

There was no elaborate promise, but the love in his eyes said more than a thousand vows.

All this time-his quiet devotion, his unwavering support-she’d seen it all.

Even without sweet talks, she wanted to say yes.

1 do, Nate.”

Cynthia placed her hand in his, fingers entwining, heat and trust passing between them.

A simple touch-and both of their faces turned pink.

Off to the side, Mrs. Tracey was already in tears, so emotional she could barely speak.

Mr. Tracey discreetly took out a handkerchief and gently wiped her cheeks, using his body to shield her teary expression from the crowd. Their affection was something everyone had come to expect-quiet, constant, unshakeable.

After composing herself, Mrs. Tracey reached for Cynthia’s hand, her voice thick with emotion.

“Cindy, you’ve been through so much-living under someone else’s roof all these years. But you’re home now. You’re family.”

“From today on, call me Mom, alright? I promised your mother I’d take care of you. And if Nate ever dares mistreat you, come straight to me-I’ll make sure he never forgets it!”

As she spoke, she took out an crystal necklace-glimmering with deep, rich azure blue-and gently wore it around. Cynthia’s neck.

“Your mother and I had this made together. Hers was a bracelet, mine a necklace. And now this necklace belongs to you, Cindy. So even though she’s not here, it’ll feel like she’s still by your side.”
