Chapter 26

Erwan froze for a long moment before speaking slowly. “So, Kate wasn’t your mistress?”

Zion slapped Erwan on the head. “How dare you say that? She’s my most outstanding student and she once saved my life.”

At that moment, Zion seemed to realize something and looked at Erwan with a strange expression. “Were you bullying Kate? And I just heard someone say a woman jumped into the river. What’s going on?”

The door across from them suddenly opened and several large men ran out in a panic.

Still confused, Erwan quickly ordered his bodyguards to restrain them. He then stepped toward one of the men, his voice cold. “Tell me, what did this woman ask you to do just now?”

The man froze, his eyes shifting. Just as he was about to dodge the question, a flash of cold light appeared before his eyes. Erwan had been toying with a knife, which now landed precisely between the man’s legs.

‘Think carefully before you speak. Understand?”

f it had moved even a centimeter closer, the man’s life would have been ruined.

The man, terrified, confessed everything in detail, even showing the transaction records between him and Anya to prove it.

After checking the records, Erwan’s face darkened with rage. He ordered coldly, “Take them all to :he basement.”

Then Erwan ran downstairs, leading the bodyguards to search for me.

But when they arrived, there was no trace of me.

For a whole day and night, Erwan searched everywhere. Whenever he felt like giving up, my mage would appear in his mind.

At the same time, I opened my eyes to the bright morning light.

was met with Zion’s worried gaze. “Kate, I’m so sorry. My disappointing son…”

My mind froze for a second before I realized he meant Erwan.

That was when I noticed how much Erwan resembled Zion.

No wonder I had always felt a strange sense of closeness to him.

looked away weakly. “It’s fine. I’ll be moving out soon. I’m about to start a new project and I want to set it up abroad. Is that okay?”

Whether in South City or North Sea, I felt I couldn’t stay any longer.

Zion lowered his head, gripping his cane. “Do you want to see that kid before you leave? He was deceived too, so…”

‘No, Professor. I just want to focus on my experiments,” I replied faintly.

The meaning was clear-I had no interest in anything else.

Zion didn’t press further. “Alright. If you have any difficulties, you can come to me. For now, take care of your injuries. I’ll be leaving in three days.”

With that, Zion left.

I rested in the small courtyard for two more days and had almost recovered.

That day, while lying in a chair under the sun, I suddenly heard a soft voice.

“Sister?”

“Is that you, sister?”

Erwan had finally found me.
