Chapter 11 

For three days, Henry was busy with work, taking breaks only to check his phone. Each time he saw no message from me, the gloom on his face deepened. 

At the Taylor Family mansion, Henry stood at the doorway with a stern expression, looking unapproachable. 

Nearby, Anya looked at the guests with pride and smugness, like a villain basking in victory. 

Suddenly, Henry heard the sharp sound of high heels behind him. 

He turned and said, “Kate, have I been too generous with you? How dare you go days without replying to my messages? You-” 

Sophie slapped Henry across the face. 

“What gives you the right to hit someone?” 

Anya, like a child protecting her own, quickly stood in front of Henry. “Do you know who he is? Sc unruly, what kind of idiot are you?!” 

Hearing this, Sophie laughed and slapped Anya again. 

Henry reacted instantly, pulling Anya into his arms and glaring at Sophie with a dark look. ‘Sister, Anya is pregnant. If you’re angry, take it out on me.” 

‘Sister?” Anya froze, her lips trembling as she looked at Sophie. 

Sophie stood dressed like a powerful woman, black coat draped over her shoulders, long, sleek 

black hair loose and black stilettos on her feet. 

Her face was cold, her brows carrying a chill. “Don’t call me that. I don’t have a shameless, bitch 

sister-in-law.” 

Sister…” Henry said helplessly. Having grown up under Sophie’s authority, he never dared to trul defy her. 

Sophie raised her hand to stop him. “Don’t! Please don’t call me that either. I don’t have a blind 

heartless brother.” 

The guests nearby stared, whispering among themselves. 

What’s going on? Doesn’t Sophie spoil her brother?” 

I don’t know. Looks like the fight’s about the woman in Henry’s arms.” 

Hey, that woman in his arms isn’t his wife…” 

Anya flinched in Henry’s arms. 

Sensing the change, Henry turned to look at the guests who were whispering. 

The room fell silent. 

Sophie rolled her eyes, then pushed Henry aside with one hand and waved Anya away with the other, walking calmly between them. 

When the banquet was about to start, Henry still hadn’t noticed me. He lowered his head, pulled but his phone and thought about calling me, but his pride stopped him. Instead, he opened our chat. 

[How long are you going to keep this up? Today is my sister’s birthday. Do you really have to embarrass Anya?] 

[If you have any conscience, come explain clearly. Say our divorce was fake and Anya is now the legitimate wife.] 

[Kate, don’t force me to cut off all your financial support.] 

But my disappearance was like a stone sinking into the sea. 

Anya, standing nearby, had been watching Henry closely. When she saw him send me severa messages in a row, hatred filled her eyes. 

As the banquet officially began, the butler walked over carrying three gifts. 

He said respectfully, “Miss, these are gifts Miss Vergara prepared for you.” 

Sophie’s expression shifted slightly and she murmured, “Kate is so thoughtful.” 

Then Sophie opened the first gift, a bottle of perfume. Those who recognized it exclaimed, “Holy crap! Isn’t this the discontinued perfume by the master perfumer Kitty?!”
