Chapter 10

After Henry and Anya moved into the other villa, he sat at his desk, staring at the chat box with me on his phone.

The last message there was still the one he had sent yesterday morning.

After a long silence, Henry began typing slowly.

[My sister’s birthday is in three days. She loves Andrew the most. Remember to bring Andrew to the old house.]

The message was sent.

Time passed, but there was no reply.

Henry pulled up my phone number and placed his finger over it.

While he hesitated, a knock sounded at the study door.

Henry’s thoughts broke and he looked up. “Come in.”

The next moment, the closed door opened and Anya walked in wearing my silk pajamas, holding a cup of coffee. She walked over to Henry and offered it with a smile. “Henry, you must be tired from working so long. I made you some coffee.”

Henry’s eyes rested on the steaming cup, his thoughts drifting away.

“Henry, you’re drinking coffee again? Do you know what time it is? How will you sleep tonight?

“Don’t drink coffee so late. Have more milk instead. It helps you sleep and also…”

I hadn’t finished speaking back then, only looking at him with a blush.

Henry shook his head, pushing away the image of me.

“Henry, don’t you want the coffee?” Anya tilted her head, her eyes full of confusion.

She muttered, “Strange… I clearly remember you used to like coffee.”

Henry was stunned for a moment, then took the coffee with a calm expression. After a sip, his brows furrowed slightly.

Anya caught it instantly and looked at him with teary eyes. “It’s not good, is it? It’s my fault. I

should have learned to cook like Kate.”

“How about I go find her and apologize? Then she and I can take care of you…”

Two people…

Henry’s mind drifted. That was his first thought. He believed he was capable enough and raising one child was no different from raising two.

Anya noticed the change in his eyes and jealousy flickered across her face.

Did he think that?

“Anya, the servants can handle these things. You just focus on your pregnancy.”

Henry pushed his thoughts aside and spoke firmly. Anya smiled and nodded, then asked knowingly, “By the way, Henry, isn’t Sophie’s birthday in three days?”

“She should be here then. Can I go too? I mainly want to see her as soon as possible and apologize in person.”

At the end, Anya blushed and lowered her head. “I want to make peace with Kate sooner, so I can have someone to help take care of you…”

Henry hadn’t planned to bring Anya with him. First, he knew Sophie’s temper; second, Anya was pregnant and he worried something might happen to her.

Seeing him hesitate, Anya wiped away unfounded tears. “I understand. My status isn’t high enough, so she’s not worthy of entering the Taylor Family mansion.”

“Then, Henry, please rest well. I will go home first.”

Henry reached out and held her wrist, his brows easing. “Now that you’re carrying my child, you’re more than qualified. I’ll take you to the mansion in three days. Don’t be sad, sweet Anya.”
