Chapter 73 Harry Is There Too

Catherine

Seeing that Auron Biotech had indeed collaborated with Quinn Group in the past, picked up her phone and called Adam. “Mr. Mayo, what kind of relationship did Tony from Auron Biotech have with my dad?”

Adam sounded puzzled. “Ms. Quinn, why are you suddenly inquiring about him?”

Catherine told him about Tony’s call earlier that day.

Adam understood immediately. “He has a fairly good reputation in the industry, and he used to invest specifically in targeted drug research.”

“Come with me to Hearthvale this Friday,” Catherine said.

She figured that Tony was only interested in the targeted drug. With his continued

investment, the laboratory could stay afloat for quite some time.

Still, she couldn’t just focus on the targeted drug. She also needed to develop other products to keep the company running.

Catherine hung up the phone and looked at Tony’s photo on her computer screen. His face appeared kind, giving the impression of someone easy to deal with.

When she checked the time, it was already noon, yet she had no appetite.

Catherine remembered she had to eat for the baby too, so she got up and headed to the kitchen to cook. But when she opened the fridge, it was completely empty.

She realized that she had been staying at the Zimmerman residence for the past few days and hadn’t asked anyone to stock up on food in advance.

Harry’s words about her being unable to take care of herself came back to her.

After thinking about it, Catherine realized she truly wasn’t good at taking care of herself. Sometimes, when she got busy, she would even skip meals and lose sleep.

Knowing that she couldn’t go on like this, she decided to head out and find something simple to eat. But just as she opened the door, she looked up and saw Jeremy standing at her doorstep.

Shocked, Catherine asked, “What brings you here?”

Jeremy rubbed his forehead with a bitter smile. “My parents wouldn’t stop nagging, and I just couldn’t take it, so I moved out. Then I remembered I still had an apartment above yours.”

He held up the food in his hands. “I just cooked these. Since I just moved in today, I thought I

would come celebrate with you.”

Catherine looked surprised. “I didn’t expect you could cook.”

After letting him in, she went to wash some dishes and utensils in the kitchen.

Jeremy knew Catherine hadn’t been home for the past few days. When he looked into it, he found that she had been staying at the Zimmerman residence. Harry was there too.

Not knowing what Catherine had gone through these past few days left him restless, so he made a decisive choice and moved into the apartment above hers.

Jeremy believed that being so close would give him more opportunities to win her over.

He watched from the window as Catherine returned home, timed it just right to make lunch, and then waited downstairs. As soon as she stepped out, he would run into her.

As he set the dishes on the table, he brought up Rachel’s birthday. He said with a hint of regret, “I had planned to attend Mrs. Zimmerman’s birthday party, but I had to fly abroad at

the last minute.”

“It’s fine. Rachel won’t hold it against you.” Catherine got up and went to the wine cabinet to grab a bottle of red wine.

Jeremy watched Catherine moving around and looked at the simple home-cooked meal on the table. It gave him a sense of home. If a child were there with them, it would feel even warmer.

He had thought about marriage and having children before, but since that person wasn’t Catherine, the idea never took hold.

He withdrew his affectionate gaze after Catherine walked away. “You don’t look very well. Did something happen?” he asked.

Catherine sighed. “Harry already knows the child is his.

Jeremy raised his brows. “Is he trying to take the child from you?”

Catherine’s fist tightened as her gaze turned cold. “Yes, but I’ll never hand over the baby.”

She admitted that the baby was the Zimmermans’ first grandchild, and she would never stop Rachel from visiting. However, she couldn’t hand the child over to Harry.

Harry was bound to end up with Michelle. Given Michelle’s vicious nature, Catherine believed that she would never spare her child. She couldn’t bring herself to trust Harry.
