Chapter 72 Are You a Fool

Catherine pretended not to see Harry and withdrew her gaze.

Harry didn’t know why, but when he first entered the room, he thought things between him and Catherine had eased a little.

In truth, he had been overthinking it. Catherine had really treated him like nothing more than

a toy.

Harry turned and lay down on the bed Catherine had been sleeping in. His eyes were so heavy that he could barely keep them open.

He heard the door open, but he didn’t have the strength to open his eyes again.

Rachel scolded, “Did you upset Cathy again? You are a grown man. What’s so hard about letting her have her way?”

When she got closer, she noticed the unnatural flush on Harry’s face. She touched his forehead, and her expression changed instantly.

“Why are you burning up like this? Harry, are you a fool?”

Rachel quickly pulled out her phone to call the doctor. She was surprised that he still managed to upset Catherine despite burning up like this. She might as well let him waste away from his

illness for all she cared.

Harry covered his head with a pillow, feeling irritated. His mind was filled with the distant

look in Catherine’s eyes as she left, and it gnawed at him, leaving him deeply unsettled.

That feeling grew several times stronger, likely because of his illness, and it left him short of

breath.

Rachel’s voice drifted farther away as Harry slipped into unconsciousness.

Catherine received a call from an unfamiliar number on her way back. It was from Hearthvale.

She waited two seconds before answering, and a cheerful laugh came through the line, ” Catherine, do you still remember me?”

Catherine frowned slightly. The voice belonged to someone she supposedly knew, yet she had no memory of this man.

Tony introduced himself warmly, as if they had known each other for years. “It’s Tony

Murphy from Auron Biotech!”

Catherine searched her memory but still couldn’t recall much about him. Out of courtesy, she addressed him as Mr. Murphy. “Mr. Murphy, how can I help you?”

Tony spoke in a gentle tone. “I heard you’re planning to revive the Quinn family, so I came to ask about the targeted drug research.”

Catherine smiled faintly upon hearing that. “Mr. Murphy, which part would you like to know about?”

“I’d invested in your father’s targeted drug project before. Unfortunately, the research had to

be cut short due to unforeseen events. As soon as I heard you were picking it up again, I wanted to continue my investment.”

Tony chuckled. “Catherine, when will you have time to come to Hearthvale? Let’s sit down and go over the details of our collaboration.”

Catherine glanced down at her phone. “Alright. Let’s meet there as you suggested.”

Tony asked, “How about this Friday?”

Since Catherine had nothing urgent to deal with, she agreed to meet Tony in Hearthvale at the arranged time.

To show his sincerity about the investment, Tony even transferred ten million dollars to Catherine in advance. As for the rest of the investment, they would discuss it in detail when they met in Hearthvale.

Catherine was shocked as she stared at the ten million dollars in her company account. “Mr. Murphy, we haven’t even met yet, and you already sent so much money.”

Tony brushed it off. “It’s just a small amount. Remember to bring the contract when you come, and we can also catch up properly.”

Catherine gave a soft hum in reply and said, “Thank you for helping me, Mr. Murphy.”

Tony laughed. “Getting the targeted drug developed is better than any words of gratitude. I can see the potential in this untapped market. Once the drug is developed, ten million dollars will be nothing.”

Catherine smiled as well. “Alright then, Mr. Murphy, I’ll see you on Friday.”

Tony’s call made her briefly forget about the unpleasantness that had happened at the Zimmerman residence.

The first thing she did after returning home was to investigate Auron Biotech’s background.
