Chapter 7 Have You Thought This Through?

It was Harry. He had his suit jacket draped over his arm, and when he saw Catherine, he only glanced at her briefly.

Catherine had been preparing that divorce agreement for quite some time. Now that Harry was home, it was the perfect opportunity to show it to him.

Harry went to his own room. Except for intimate matters, they basically slept in separate

rooms.

Catherine knocked on his door. “I need to talk to you about something.”

Harry didn’t turn around. “What is it?”

“About the divorce.” Catherine walked up to Harry and handed him the divorce agreement.

Harry stared at her for two seconds. He then took out a cigarette, put it between his lips, and lit it. “Go ahead. What are your demands?”

“I don’t have any demands. Just sign it.” Catherine placed a pen beside him.

Harry took it and glanced through it, looking somewhat surprised at Catherine. “You’re not asking for anything?”

She actually did want something. She wanted Harry himself. But this man’s heart had never belonged to her. Even if she had obtained him through underhanded means, she would only end up wounded.

“Not anymore.” Catherine just hoped Harry would hurry up and sign the divorce papers so they could never see each other again.

Harry picked up the pen and spun it between his fingers, but he didn’t sign. “Have you thought this through?”

“I’ve thought it through. Please sign.” Catherine felt somewhat tired. She leaned against the nearby wall to keep herself from falling.

Harry thought about the slap Michelle had taken for him and no longer hesitated. He signed his name efficiently.

“You can keep this house. I’ll also have someone transfer ten million to you as compensation. Regarding the property division, I’ll have Adrian discuss it with you.”

Adrian Hale was his assistant.

“Alright.” Catherine didn’t refuse. Even if she wasn’t thinking of herself, she had to consider the baby in her womb.

Harry didn’t stay any longer. He picked up his jacket and walked past Catherine. The scent of his cologne filled her nostrils as Catherine turned and called out to him, “Wait!”

“Is there something else?” Perhaps because of the divorce, Harry didn’t show his usual impatience with her this time.

Catherine looked around the room at Harry’s belongings. “What about all your things…”

“Just throw them away.”

It was such a cold statement. Catherine watched his retreating figure as he walked away without any hesitation. She pressed her lips together tightly.

It seemed like he wasn’t just throwing away his belongings, but her as well. No matter how hard she tried or how much she loved him, someone who didn’t love her back would never give her what she needed in return.

Even after being hurt so many times, Catherine still couldn’t help feeling pain. She looked up, keeping her tears from falling.

Her phone rang just then, breaking into her sorrowful thoughts. It was Adrian calling.

“Mrs. Zimmerman, there’s a property transfer agreement that needs your signature. Also, the ten million dollars has already been deposited into your account.”

“Alright.” Catherine looked around the empty house. Now, she was completely alone.

“Please remind Harry that we need to set a time to go get the divorce certificate.”

“I’ll pass that along to Mr. Zimmerman. Goodbye, Mrs. Zimmerman.” Adrian hung up.

He was just like Harry, cold as ice. No matter when or where, he always maintained a strictly professional attitude.

Catherine went to Harry’s room, where his scent still hung in the air. Just smelling it made her heart ache. Tears finally fell despite her efforts to hold them back, dropping onto Harry’s bed.

Harry sat in his car, his long fingers holding a cigarette as he rested his hand on the car window. He glanced at the lit window upstairs and took a drag of his cigarette. After handling the divorce details, he drove away with one hand on the steering wheel.

He had always known it would end this way with Catherine. His phone buzzed beside him, and it was Michelle calling. Harry glanced at it but didn’t answer.
