Chapter 39 The Only Request
Catherine’s voice was low. She seemed calm, but her actions were reckless. “Yes! I’ve lost my mind! When you tried to have me killed, you should’ve expected this!”
“Catherine, if you kill me, you’ll also be doomed.” Michelle didn’t expect Catherine to act so rashly. She didn’t even know Catherine had a knife.
Catherine smiled when she heard the tremor in Michelle’s voice. “If you push me too far, I will not let you live in peace. Don’t forget that even without Harry, I still have the entire Zimmerman family behind me.‘
The blade flashed cold. With trembling hands, Michelle forced a smile and said, “Catherine, let’s talk this through.”
“I have nothing to say to you.” Catherine pressed the knife a little. The blade cut Michelle’s skin, and a line of blood appeared.
After that, Catherine warned, “If you dare to make a move against me again, I’ll kill you without hesitation.”
With that, she let Michelle go.
Michelle’s legs went weak. Just as she breathed a sigh of relief that the knife had moved away, it drove into her shoulder without pause. Agony shot through her, and she fell to the floor.
“Ah!” she cried out.
Blood spurted, splashing across Catherine’s face. She wiped it away. The red stained her delicate features with a wild, dangerous beauty.
The commotion drew Harry. He pushed the door open and instantly saw Catherine’s bloodstained face.
On the floor, Michelle was gripping her shoulder in pain. “Harry, she wants to kill me…”
Harry’s heart jolted. Looking at the knife in Catherine’s hand, he roared, “Catherine! Are you mad?”
He then reached out and ordered in a deep tone, “Give me the knife.”
Catherine instinctively hid the knife behind her.
Harry lost patience and grabbed her hand to snatch the knife, only for her to slap him across the face.

Michelle froze in shock when she saw that Catherine had actually dared to hit Harry.
Harry’s face snapped to the side. He paused. There was a sharp stinging in his cheek. Slowly, he turned back and met Catherine’s eyes.
Catherine pointed the knife at him and enunciated, “Divorce me. Or I’ll kill her.
Coldness filled Harry’s gaze. “Are you threatening me?”
“This should’ve been settled long ago. I will not stay entangled with you any longer. I only
want you both out of my life, as far away as possible!” Catherine said with a blank expression. “She hired someone to kill me. Why can’t I kill her?”
Harry stared at Catherine skeptically. “What are you saying?”
“Michelle wanted me dead,” Catherine sneered. “All because you refused to divorce me.”
Michelle rushed to explain, “Harry, none of that is true. Catherine lost control all of a sudden. Why would I try to kill her for no reason?”
Harry didn’t believe Catherine, and he shot back, “Where’s the proof? What evidence do you have that she tried to kill you?”
Catherine wasn’t surprised by those words. When had Harry ever believed her?
She no longer wished to argue. “Believe me or not, that’s up to you. I have only one demand. We must divorce.”
Harry stared at Catherine coldly before helping Michelle up and turning to leave. “I’ll come back later to discuss it.”
In the next instant, Catherine’s vision went dark, and her body pitched forward.
