Chapter 36 Get Me to a Hospital Quickly
When Catherine woke up, she realized she was lying on a filthy and foul–smelling floor.
She vaguely heard the muffled voices of men.
“Should we sell her off? That person wouldn’t know anyway. We could get two payouts.”
“That’s risky. If we get caught-”
“What are you afraid of? Do you think she can get out if we send her deep into the mountains?”
“But this one’s so pretty. Why don’t we have some fun first?”
Every hair on Catherine’s body stood on end at that last line. Her entire body trembled uncontrollably.
It turned out that someone had been hired to murder her.
Who exactly wanted her dead repeatedly?
The man in charge noticed she had woken. “Oh, you’re awake?”
It was the middle–aged man who had tricked her into delivering the sanitary pads.
He walked over and pinched her cheek before clicking his tongue twice. “Pretty face! Don’t worry. I know how to make women happy. I’ll give you a good time as long as you don’t make a scene. You’re so beautiful.”
The men before her stared at her like ravenous wolves.
Her heart was lodged in her throat. She instinctively struggled in fear, but her hands and feet were bound with rough rope.
Her mouth was sealed with thick tape. She whimpered, trying to speak.
The middle–aged man ripped the tape from her face. “You can talk now.”
He had done it so roughly that a large red welt bloomed across her face.
However, Catherine couldn’t spare a thought for the pain. She tried to control her trembling body and said calmly, “I can give you money, as much as you want.”
With that, the middle–aged man and his companions burst into loud laughter.
She feared they wouldn’t believe her and was about to speak. Then, the middle–aged man slapped her so hard across the face that she hit the floor.

Chapter 76 Get Me in a Hospital Quickly
“Do you think you can fool me? How much wealth could a woman like you possibly have? Let me have some fun first.” He grabbed her hair and couldn’t resist touching her face again.
She fought back the nausea in her throat. Her voice was trembling. “My husband is from the Zimmerman family in Neovara. You know their status. If anything happens to me, you won’t get away with it.”
The laughter stopped abruptly.
“If you let me go, I’ll give each of you a million dollars. Take the money and leave.” She pressed her advantage. Her offer sounded tempting even to her own ears.
The middle–aged man stared at her and scrutinized her. She was dressed in expensive clothes and had a distinctive presence. She clearly looked like someone from a wealthy family. His suspicions grew, yet his tone remained harsh. “Are you really part of the Zimmerman family?” “Yes, and I’m carrying the Zimmerman family’s eldest grandson. Given how they value the children, none of you would be able to escape if anything happened to this child,” Catherine said patiently, though she now felt her stomach aching as the color drained from her face. ” My phone is in my bag. I can transfer the money to you now.”
“You’d better not try any tricks!” The middle–aged man hesitated briefly and warned her. He turned around to fetch her bag before untying her hands.
Money seemed insignificant compared to one’s own safety.
However, she didn’t have that much money. Her current predicament forced her to use the supplementary card Harry had given her. She gritted her teeth against the pain and transferred the money to those men.
Her body was curled up in agony. Her voice faltered, sounding fragile and helpless. “Take me to a hospital… the baby…”
The men stared at the one million dollars in their accounts. Their eyes widened, and their breathing grew heavy. “It’s… really a million dollars…”
