Chapter 35 It’s Obvious Who He Will Choose
Michelle had the strongest motive and stood to gain the most.
She could never rightfully become Harry’s wife if he refused to divorce Catherine. Therefore, she could only resort to getting rid of Catherine.
Everything lined up perfectly.
However, Catherine had no proof.
With how fiercely Harry protected Michelle, he would never believe her even if she told him.
An insignificant ex–wife versus the person whom he deeply loved. Catherine knew exactly who he would choose without the need to guess.
Her only path now was to find evidence.
She leaned back in her chair. The overhead light stung her eyes. She instinctively reached for her stomach, and her lips were pursed in bitterness.
Did Harry realize that dragging out the divorce like that could get her killed?
He probably wouldn’t care even if he did realize that.
Catherine thought about contacting Rachel. After all, she was alone now with no one to rely on. She wouldn’t be able to defend herself if Michelle made another move.
She was carrying a child. The consequences would be unimaginable if another accident like that happened again.
She dared not gamble with her own life and that of her child.
However, the image of Harry’s cold face flashed in her mind. He and Rachel would surely clash again if Rachel found out about this.
That wasn’t a good choice.
She fidgeted with her fingers. The helplessness on her face was unmistakable. She couldn’t even find a single person to shelter her.
If only her parents were still alive.
She leaned on the desk, and her eyes inexplicably reddened.
Soon, it was quitting time, and people started leaving the office in succession. Catherine turned off her computer and left too.

Her new place was located nearby. It was only a few minutes‘ walk from the
company.
She ran into a middle–aged man who looked kind and simple while she was on her way back. His tanned face was etched with anxiety.
A spark of relief flickered in his eyes when his gaze landed on her. “Miss, could you do me a favour? My daughter suddenly got her period. These are the sanitary pads that I bought for her. Could you please deliver them to the restroom for me?”
She hesitated momentarily, looking at the man’s eyes and the package of brand–new sanitary pads in his hands. “I…”
“She’s just in the restroom ahead. It’ll only take a second. Please.” The man clasped his hands together and pleaded.
His expression was pitiful.
But Catherine wasn’t naive. Nowadays, some people would prey on women’s sympathy to lure them into traps, so she had to stay cautious.
The man then stopped another young lady who was also passing by. The lady was around 17 or 18 years old. He repeated the same story to her and said, “We can go together if you don’t feel safe. I’m not a bad person.”
The man didn’t look like a bad person.
Catherine finally accepted the sanitary pads and walked toward the restroom.
Her guard loosened with another girl accompanying her.
She knocked on the stalls in the public restroom. “Is someone there? I’m here to bring you sanitary pads.”
A faint voice came from the third–to–last stall. “I’m here.”
It was a girl’s voice.
It seemed the man hadn’t lied after all.
She walked over and handed over the pads when the door cracked open. “Here, your father-”
“I know. You’re the woman my father sent.” The frail girl’s voice was coming from the mouth
of a fat man.
Catherine’s eyes
widened. Only then did she realize she had been tricked. She instinctively turned around to run away.
