Chapter 29 Come Home With Me
Catherine walked out of the hospital.
A figure rushed toward her and pulled her into a tight embrace before she could react.
The faint scent of bitter orange spread through the air at that moment.
It was Jeremy.
His voice trembled. “Cathy, you nearly scared me to death.”
She felt uneasy and pushed him away. “I’m fine now. Don’t worry.”
She raised her gaze and saw his reddened eyes.
She quickly looked away before catching sight of Harry and Michelle stepping out.
The atmosphere grew tense at that moment.
Jeremy pulled her back into his arms before she could react. She was forced to stand opposite Harry and Michelle.
Harry’s gaze fell on Jeremy’s hand on her waist. His face darkened. For a moment, he had an urge to chop off his hand.
Catherine sensed the awkwardness and tried to pull away from Jeremy.
However, Jeremy didn’t let go. Instead, he smiled faintly at Harry and shifted his gaze toward Michelle. “Mr. Zimmerman, you’re here with your partner at the hospital. Does that mean there’s good news coming?”
Catherine was stunned at his words. Her eyes instinctively darted to Michelle’s stomach.
Did they come to the hospital because Michelle was pregnant?
She could barely keep her composure. All she wanted was to run as far as possible from the
scene.
Harry didn’t answer. Instead, he walked toward Catherine and yanked her out of Jeremy’s arms. “Come home with me.”
However, Jeremy caught her other hand. “Cathy, come with me.”
She was caught between two men and had no choice but to endure their tug–of–war,
Catherine took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down. “Let go of me. Both of you.”

She wasn’t about to let herself be treated like some object they could fight over.
Neither of them moved.
She raised her voice this time, and her tone was tinged with impatience. “I said, let go!”
Jeremy immediately let go of her. “Cathy, I…
She ignored him and fixed her gaze intently on Harry’s grip. Her gaze was icy and sharp.” Harry, let go.”
Harry met her gaze. An unpleasant feeling rose in his heart. He instinctively loosened his grip. “Catherine…”
When had she ever looked at him like that?
Yet, Catherine didn’t bother with either of them. She turned around and walked away.
She was feeling horrible. She didn’t want to face either of them.
Jeremy turned around and chased after her.
Michelle’s nails dug into her palms. She turned to Harry and said gently, “Harry, if you’re worried, why don’t we follow them?”
Harry withdrew his gaze. “There’s no need to do that.‘
Catherine hailed a cab to return home. She kicked off her shoes and sank onto the living room’s floor.
However, Jeremy’s words kept replaying in her head.
He’d asked about “good news coming“.
Harry wouldn’t set her free, but he kept tormenting her. What exactly did he take her for?
He was a psychopath.
Catherine was both physically and mentally exhausted. She collapsed onto the bed and quickly drifted into sleep. The next morning, Jeremy called her.
His first words were an apology. “Cathy, I was too impulsive yesterday. I’m sorry.”
She yawned and replied weakly, “It’s fine.”
He fell silent for a moment before saying softly, “Cathy, the accident report for your car is out. Someone cut your brakes.”

Her eyes flew open. All traces of drowsiness vanished. Her voice rose in shock. “What did you say?”
He patiently repeated it.
A thought flashed through her mind.
Someone was trying to murder her.
