Chapter 21 Let’s Get the Divorce Certificate

Harry would use protection every time he slept with Catherine, so the baby couldn’t possibly

be his.

It must be Jeremy’s then.

“Hah.” Harry slammed his phone down on the table hard. Now, he understood why Catherine

wanted to divorce him.

Harry picked up the bottle on the table and drained it. His eyes darkened as they fell on that line of text. No wonder she had hit him for Jeremy’s sake. It’s because Jeremy was the one she really wanted.

And here he had been worried about Catherine. What an idiot he’d been.

Yesterday’s stomach pain must have been pregnancy complications. Malice grew like wildfire at that moment. He stood up, looked at the handprint in the mirror, and smiled coldly. He picked up his phone and called Catherine.

Catherine had just woken up at the hospital and was somewhat surprised Harry would call her directly. But thinking of what Harry had done last night, her voice turned cold. “What is it?”

“I’m free today. Let’s get the divorce certificate.” Harry’s tone was indifferent. “Meet me at 10:

00 am.”

“Fine.” Catherine had barely agreed when Harry hung up.

Catherine rubbed her eyes tiredly. After the stinging sensation in her eyes faded, everything went black the moment she stood up. She couldn’t steady herself and nearly fell forward. Jeremy walked in just then and quickly stepped forward to support Catherine. “What’s wrong?

“Nothing. Just low blood sugar.” Catherine grabbed Jeremy’s arm to steady herself. Her whole being radiated a fragile, sickly air.

Even her voice was weak and listless.

Jeremy helped Catherine sit on the bed. “Rest in bed for now.”

Catherine looked up and saw the injuries on Jeremy’s face. She asked worriedly, “How are your

wounds?”

“Just superficial injuries, nothing serious.” Jeremy comforted Catherine. “You’re the one who

needs to focus on recovering. The doctor said you should stay in bed and not do anything.”

Catherine glanced at the time. “I need to go out today.”

“What’s so important that you have to leave? You’re in no condition to be discharged.” Jeremy felt that Catherine was as fragile as glass right now. She could be easily shattered.

“It’s quite important, but it won’t take long. I’ll come back after I’m done.” Ever since learning of Jeremy’s feelings for her, Catherine had felt awkward around him.

She didn’t want to give Jeremy false hope, nor did she want to start a new relationship. Her last one had exhausted her.

“Then, let me drive you,” Jeremy said with concern.

Catherine shook her head. “No need. I can go myself. It’ll be quick.”

Jeremy knew Catherine was deliberately keeping her distance from him. He sighed silently. What he did yesterday probably scared her off.

Seeing her resistance, Jeremy didn’t want to force it. “Then, be careful on the road. Call me if there are any problems.”

“Okay,” Catherine answered quietly. After breakfast, she went to the courthouse entrance.

At 10:00 am sharp, Harry appeared beside her. He wore sunglasses and a mask, looking down at Catherine. “Is the baby okay?”

Catherine’s body froze in place at his words. She asked in a panic, “H-How did you…”

Harry grabbed her chin, and his grip tightened. “You think I can’t find things out about you?” Catherine winced in pain, prying at his hand. “Let go!”

“Catherine, you really did surprise me.” Harry’s tone was ice cold. “Sleeping with me on one hand, getting cozy with Jeremy on the other, and even carrying his bastard child…”

When Catherine heard his last sentence, she suddenly relaxed. She had thought Harry knew the child was his and would fight her for it. Apparently, he hadn’t discovered the truth.

She smiled brightly. “You can cheat, so why can’t I?”

“You’re really something, Catherine Quinn!”
