Jeremy looked at Catherine. “Are you okay?”

Catherine shook her head. “I’m fine. Let’s talk business.”

The partnership went more smoothly than Catherine had expected. She thought it would take quite a while, but Jeremy just gave her the project.

When the contract was brought out, Catherine was stunned for a moment. “That fast?”

“Yeah, I think your ideas are pretty good.” Jeremy stamped his seal with a faint smile playing on his lips.

“I’ve already agreed on my end. You can think it over. If you feel it’s not suitable, just tear it up. If you want to cooperate, remember to bring the signed contract the next time we meet.”

Catherine looked at the contract in her hands and smiled with relief. “No need to think twice.

go back and sign it right now.”

“It’s lunchtime. Want to grab a meal together?” Jeremy extended an invitation.

“Sure.” Catherine readily agreed.

She sent this news to the company group chat, and the previously quiet group erupted with excitement over her message. Her lips curved into a faint smile as she put away her phone. Seraphis Group had just dodged bankruptcy.

As they were preparing to leave with Jeremy, Catherine received a call from the Zimmerman residence. “Ma’am, Ms. Rachel has fainted.”

Catherine’s heart lurched with worry. “Why did she suddenly faint? I’ll be right there.”

After hanging up, she looked at Jeremy apologetically. “I’m afraid I can’t today. There’s an emergency involving my mother-in-law.”

Jeremy nodded understandingly. “We can reschedule.”

Catherine nodded and hurried away with her bag. Jeremy held back what he was going to say. He had wanted to offer to drive Catherine there, but she didn’t give him the chance.

Jeremy stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, watching Catherine leave. Then, he called his assistant, Julian, over. “Help me look into her situation over the past two years.”

Catherine took a cab straight to the hospital. The housekeeper said Rachel had called Harry to confront him about signing the divorce papers, but she hadn’t expected Harry to argue back.

She then fainted from anger.

Catherine looked at Rachel’s pale face, feeling terrible. As soon as Rachel saw her, her eyes reddened as she beckoned Catherine over. “Cathy, come here.”

Catherine walked to her side and took Rachel’s hand. “How are you feeling, Rachel?”

Rachel shook her head weakly. “Don’t worry, Cathy. Even if you get divorced, I won’t let that homewrecker have it easy! That blind son of mine actually argued with me over her!”

Catherine managed a weak smile. Harry had always respected Rachel, so the fact that he had actually argued with her meant that Michelle must have really gotten to him.

“Rachel, what if you make yourself sick with anger?” Catherine advised. “Just let them be.” Catherine couldn’t control Harry when they were married, and she certainly had no right to after their divorce.

Rachel said indignantly, “I just can’t stand this!”

As she finished speaking, the hospital room door opened. It was Harry. Catherine was about to get up and leave when Rachel grabbed her hand.

Rachel glared at Harry with hostility. “What are you doing here? I don’t want to see you right now!”

Harry placed a fruit basket on the bedside table. His attitude was cold. “I’ll leave after dropping this off.”

Rachel was furious at his response. “Take your stuff and get out!”

“What are you doing here?” Harry’s gaze swept over Catherine, and his tone was flat.

However, Catherine still caught the displeasure in his voice. They were already divorced, so her

presence here did seem inappropriate.

“I’ll leave now.” Catherine picked up her bag and turned to

Seeing that Catherine was about to leave, Rachel grabbed an orange from the table and angrily threw it at Harry. “I asked Cathy to come keep me company. What business is it of yours that she’s here? Do you know she’s still pregn…”

Catherine quickly looked up and interrupted Rachel. “I have something to do, so I have to run.”

She then opened the door and left. Her retreating figure looked somewhat panicked. Harry looked at Rachel. “What’s wrong with Catherine?”
