Catherine was in no mood to try for another child. Plus, she didn’t want to be involved with Harry any further.
Despite feeling slightly disappointed, Rachel did not pressure Catherine and said, “Alright. I’ll let you get some rest.”
Catherine knew of Rachel’s desire for her and Harry to have a child. Nevertheless, Catherine wasn’t interested right now.
She couldn’t risk getting pregnant until she caught the culprit. There was no way she could take the pain of losing another child.
Catherine was in terrible danger. It wouldn’t be too late to try for a child once she was safe.
As Catherine set her phone down, she saw a message from Adam, informing her that their registration application had been approved.
To cope with the grief in her heart, she had been working incredibly hard to suppress those emotions, so much so that the stressful atmosphere extended to the entire company.
It seemed like it was time for her to give her employees some time off.
When she went in for work the next day, she told her employees that they would be going for a team- building activity. In the end, she couldn’t help but have several drinks.
It had been a long time since she had a drink. The moment the alcohol touched her lips, she couldn’t help but crave more.
Quietly, she watched the others sing as she poured another drink for herself.
Adam reminded her. “Ms. Quinn, you should hold back on those drinks. You’re still recovering.”
Catherine waved her hand to dismiss him. “I know what I’m doing.”
Adam watched her silently, and an inexplicable heartache ate at him.
Catherine lifted her hand and wiped the corners of her mouth. Then, she set her glass down before staggering out of the private room.
Adam wanted to tag along with her, but she refused. She wanted to go out for some fresh air alone.
When she stepped out of the private room, she saw a handsome, young man walking in her direction. “Would you like to have a drink, miss?”
He was quite a young man, dressed like a waiter from the nightclub. His eyes were clear and bright, and he looked adorable.

With just one glance, he left a positive impression on others. This was even more so when his smile revealed a dimple on each side of his cheek.
Catherine was quite fond of young men like him. She accepted the drink from him and swirled its contents around. She couldn’t help but reach out and tilt his chin up with her finger.
“What’s your name?” she asked.
The young man was just about to answer when Catherine felt a heavy tug on her arm, and she was pulled right into someone else’s embrace.
She couldn’t be any more familiar with this scent. She furrowed her brows almost instantly. “What are you doing here, Harry?”
Harry held onto her tightly as he glared fiercely at the young man. “Stay away from her.”
Startled, the young man left, feeling disgruntled.
Catherine struggled to free herself from Harry’s arms. “Let me go!”
Harry released her. As he studied her face that was flushed from the alcohol, he said, “You’re drunk.”
Catherine shoved him away and took a step back. After taking a sip from the glass in her hand, she smiled and said, “I’m very sober right now.”
Harry snatched the glass of alcohol out of her grasp. “That’s enough. You have to be mindful of your
health.”
With every step he took toward her, she took a step back. This continued until she had no room to
retreat.
With her back pressed against the wall, her vision of Harry began to blur. She was seeing double. ” Whatever I do–whether or not I drink–doesn’t have anything to do with you, does it?”
Catherine’s eyes had turned bleary from the alcohol. Her voice carried a tinge of softness, unlike her frigid self when she was sober.
One glance was all it took for Harry’s heart to melt. It filled him with a strong sense of protectiveness
toward her.
“It does, somewhat. It’ll make me worried about you.”
He held her by her shoulders, pulling her gently into his embrace, When Catherine failed to free herself from his grasp, she sank her teeth into his arm.
Because of their position in a corner and Catherine’s thin figure, Harry was able to shield her completely with ease.
She mumbled, “I need to go to the washroom…”

Harry supported her physically as they walked over, as if he felt no pain at all. “How much did you have to drink?”
“Not much…” Catherine mumbled, her eyes closed.
At this time, she was as compliant as she could be, answering every question Harry threw at her.
As far as Harry could remember, Catherine’s tolerance for alcohol was pretty high.
Clearly, she must have had more than a few drinks to end up in this state. In consideration of all that she kept to herself, she was probably trying to numb herself with alcohol.
Harry waited for Catherine outside the washroom. After approximately ten minutes, there was still no sign of her, so he called out to her.
It took quite a while before Catherine responded, “I’m… here…”
Harry couldn’t be sure what she was up to.
Since there was no one around, he entered the ladies‘ room. The moment he went inside, he saw Catherine seated in a corner with her eyes wide open, lost in thought.
When she saw Harry right in front of her, she blinked, then blurted, “You are one handsome man.”
Harry exhaled softly. “Don’t you know who I am?”
Confused, Catherine asked, “Why should I know who you are?”
She reached out to trace his facial features. She ran her fingers across his eyebrows and his eyes before bringing her fingers to a stop on his lips.
She narrowed her eyes and licked her lips. “These look very kissable.”
The muscles in Harry’s throat tensed up. “Do you want to kiss me?”
