Chapter 82.

Those sweet memories, they walked hand in hand on the school playground, secretly dating behind the teachers’ and parents’ backs, it felt like it was just yesterday…

Jovana held back her tears, her fingertip tracing the man’s strong face, “Armando, do you know you’re

about to lose me!”

“Vana…” the man suddenly spoke.

“Don’t leave me…”

The man nestled in her palm and rubbed against it, gentle like a big puppy.

Jovana turned her head with red eyes and choked up, and it took her a long, long time to calm down….

A sleepless night.

Jovana didn’t even get a wink of sleep until early morning.

When she woke up, Armando had already bought breakfast.

Crepes, orange juice, blueberry muffin… those were all things she loved to eat.

Jovana took a look and awkwardly looked away.

She forced herself to push down the bitterness, because she still had to prepare some materials and meet Harland at Glory Fencing Club at eleven.

“Awake…”

Armando came out of the bathroom and saw she was awake. His chest tightened a bit.”I poured the hot water into the basin to cool it down. You can wash up now. Go ahead.”

Hearing that, Jovana’s face froze for a second, and a flash of bitterness crossed her face.

She had sensitive skin and was always really careful with what she used on her body, or she’d get a rash. Armando felt so bad for her. Whenever they went out, he always carried a small water purifier with him.

She felt it wasn’t really necessary, kind of making a fuss over nothing, but he totally enjoyed it.

There wasn’t any at the hospital, so he cooled down hot water for her in advance…

Jovana said she couldn’t describe how she felt right now, just that her chest felt sore and tight.

and

Before she could say anything, Armando quickly added, “You can eat after you wash up. I asked the doctor,

you can leave the hospital today. Didn’t you say you were bored here? I’ll take you out for some fresh air in a couple of days…”

As he spoke, he walked to the table where the fork was placed, always looking for something to say, afraid of hearing words like “leave” or “break up” from Jovana.

He was really scared.

Jovana knew he was trying to cheer her up.

But people have feelings, not made of iron. Once hurt, could things ever go back to how they were?

“Vana, don’t ignore me…” Armando walked up to her, nervous like a kid who did something wrong, “Last night I was a jerk, you can hit me or yell at me, whatever you want…”

“Just don’t leave, don’t ignore me…”

Armando held her hand, his palm all sweaty, showing how scared he was.

Jovana snapped back and didn’t pull her hand away.

She paused for a moment, then said softly, “I can stay, but you have to promise me two things.”

Hearing that, Armando’s eyes lit up, “As many requests as you want! Just say it.”

Jovana looked at him and said word by word, “First, we slept in separate rooms this month. Second, I was innocent, and you were not allowed to suspect anything between me and Harland again.”

In the ten days or so before she left, she really didn’t want anything unexpected to happen.

And then there was Harland, he helped her, if Armando did anything to him again, she would feel really bad.

When he heard this, Armando’s expression changed just a little, but he didn’t show it.

He nodded, pretty serious, “Okay, no problem.”

Jovana looked him over, feeling half skeptical, but she trusted him more than not, because she knew her leaving really had a big impact on Armando.

At least during this time, he wouldn’t do anything out of line.

Armando helped her get out of bed and said gently, “Go wash up, I’ll set out breakfast, and you can eat when you come out.”

Jovana pressed her lips together and didn’t say anything, then went to the bathroom.

He walked in and saw the basin of cool water on the sink and the toothbrush with toothpaste already on it. Knowing she wasn’t used to using other people’s stuff, he even bought a towel for her. He’d even bought clothes, ironed them, and laid them out neatly on the shelf.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say took care of everything.

He remembered her habits really well.

But why did I just forget the promise I once made? I forgot the most important thing…

Jovana’s hand on the doorknob turned pale from gripping it so hard, and that numb heart still ached for a

moment.
