Chapter 77.
His lips were tight, his eyes dark.
Jovana didn’t think too much about it, just thought he didn’t have time tomorrow, so she asked, “Then when will you have time? I can wait.”
Harland gave her a look, and that expression was so sincere and stubborn that it was really hard to say no.
He lowered his eyes, straightened the wrinkled cuffs, looking thoughtful, and finally said, I have a social event at Glory Fencing Club at eleven tomorrow. After that, I’ll have about half an hour free.”
Jovana quietly kept it in mind and smiled, “Okay.”
After he finished talking, the atmosphere fell silent again.
Jovana glanced at him quietly, trying to read his expression, “See you tomorrow then, it’s late, drive slow on your way, I’m heading back too.”
Hearing that word, Harland’s expression changed ever so slightly.
I couldn’t help but think of that moment when her pale face was covered in tears and she called out Armando so sadly…
Her unconscious attachment, and the way she snuggled up, were obviously things you’d only do if you were really in love.
Harland frowned and cut off his thoughts. His dark eyes were like a bottomless pool-no one could figure out what he was thinking.
“Go back.” He said coldly, stopped looking at her, and walked to the other side of the car.
“Okay, drive slow on the way.”
Jovana waved at him and turned to leave.
It was too cold at night, she hugged herself and ran in little quick steps.
The footsteps got farther and farther away, Harland paused as he was about to open the car door, held back from turning his head to look at that slim figure, and only looked away after watching her walk into the building.
Neither of them noticed that, in the building behind them, a shadowy gaze had been watching their every move the whole time.
After Jovana left, Harland smoked a cigarette outside before getting in the car.
Just about to start the car.
The phone in my suit pocket suddenly buzzed.
He took it out and had a look.
After a few seconds of silence, she replied to him, “Thanks.”
Tatiana called me directly and said with a smile, Mrs. Crosier helped you out. She agreed to give you that

piece of land in the west area.”
Harland rolled down the window, lit a cigarette, took a drag, and grunted in a low voice, “Thanks for the trouble. I’ll have someone send you the contract for next quarter tomorrow,”
Tatiana smiled, but she clearly had something else on her mind, I heard Mrs. Crosier went straight to the hospital to catch them cheating.”
Harland frowned, didn’t want to listen to her nonsense, “I’m hanging up.”
“Hey! Are you some kind of instant noodle or what, you love hanging up so much!” Tatiana just got straight to the point, “I remember Jovana was at the hospital too, were you-”
Harland just hung up the phone, tossed his cell onto the passenger seat, and took a deep, annoyed drag of his cigarette.
Smoke swirled around and hid the darkness in the man’s eyes.
He was determined to get that land in the west side. He had already found out all the shady stuff Zachary did behind the scenes. He just wanted to use it to threaten and bribe the Crosier family into giving up that land in the west side.
To be honest, he wasn’t really in a hurry, but…
The cigarette burned his fingertip, and Harland snapped back. He saw the hot ash in his palm, frowned, and crushed the cigarette hard with his fingertip, like he was putting out something else.
Until the cigarette butt was completely turned to ash, he snapped out of it, his eyes went back to their usual cool and calm look, and he drove away.
He couldn’t fool himself, Jovana really affected him, light and gentle like a feather, but impossible to ignore.
But she was married and had a husband.
And also, from the way she purred that guy’s name tonight, anyone could tell he meant a lot to her.
He was never an indecisive person.
Tomorrow it was at Glory Fencing Club.
Just take it as ending things, don’t bother me anymore.
Jovana went back to the ward. It was less than a hundred meters, but it took her ten minutes. She was filled with sadness.
Didn’t want to face that cold hospital room all alone, and really didn’t want to face that man.
Pushed open the hospital room door, the lights were bright inside. Armando was sitting on a stool, casually flipping through a book. His side profile looked sharp and handsome, with his legs crossed. He looked really noble.
