But what did I get in the end.

Endless betrayal, countless grievances.

Jovana swallowed the bitterness in her throat, and the eyes that used to be so full of spirit looked dull and

lifeless.

Paula said, “I also have to thank you for telling me about this. I heard about Zachary bullying you and taking your project. All these things, I will definitely give you an explanation. Our Crosier family is upright, we don’t do this kind of shady stuff.”

Jovana froze for a second. She hadn’t contacted her at all back then…

“Mrs. Crosier…”

Paula raised her hand a bit, sounding a little tired, “I’ll have my secretary contact you about the rest

tomorrow.”

She checked the time and tried to give a polite smile, “It’s late, I’ll go now, you should get some rest too…”

Jovana saw that Paula was forcing a smile.

After all, she had been with Zachary for decades, and people aren’t made of stone. Something this big happened-no one could accept it all at once.

She didn’t ask who helped tell her the news, just nodded, “Okay, then I’ll trouble Mrs. Crosier.”

Paula nodded slightly and left.

The hallway was quiet.

Jovana had something on her mind. She glanced at the digital clock on the wall-it was just after nine, still early.

She didn’t want to go back to the ward and face Armando. Oh no, she just didn’t want to be alone in that cold, empty room. Armando was probably still with Juliette right now.

She gave a self-mocking little smile, full of bitterness, and walked off alone, not knowing where she was going.

Went downstairs.

The cold wind hit my face.

Jovana tucked her chin into her collar, then looked up and accidentally spotted a familiar car.

It was Maybach.

She froze for a second, and from this angle, she could just see the car’s license plate number.

She had a really good memory and remembered this was Harland’s car.

She hesitated for a moment, then walked over.

If Harland hadn’t helped her today, she wouldn’t even know if she was dead or alive now. With Juliette’s personality, she would’ve totally finished her off.

At that time, she woke up and didn’t see him, thought he had left for something, and planned to thank him in person tomorrow.

Didn’t expect he was here.

Thinking that she happened to have something to ask him, Jovana pulled herself together, walked to the car, and knocked on the rear windshield.

“What are you doing?”

A man’s deep, cold voice sounded behind me.

Jovana’s back flinched, and she suddenly sat up straight and looked back, meeting the man’s cold eyes.

It was Harland.

Her heart went back to normal and she let out a sigh of relief, “Mr. Frasier.” She paused, pointed at the car nearby with her finger, and explained, “I thought you left. I just came downstairs and saw your car was still here. Didn’t expect you were still around…”

Just talked nonsense.

Jovana bit her tongue and for a moment didn’t even know what she was going to say next.

Harland glanced coolly at her shivering arm, his eyes darkening a bit, then walked over and opened the car door.

“If you have something to say, just say it.”

It was the front passenger seat. That spot was kind of tricky, especially since this car was Harland’s personal ride. The front seat was supposed to be the girlfriend’s spot.

It was Tatiana’s.

Jovana instinctively took a step back and shook her head, “No, it’s okay, I just wanted to ask, Mr. Frasier, are you free tomorrow? Maybe we can find some time to sit down and talk…”

She probably figured out that Harland came to Los Angeles this time to expand the market.

And she just happened to have solid connections and resources to introduce to him in this area.

Although it was just a little help, it was also her way of saying thank you to him.

Harland paused when he opened the car door, his dark eyes deeper than the endless night.

If you think about it, most of the few times he got rejected in his life actually came from this woman.

He ran his tongue around his back molars and shut the car door.

When I looked at her, my face was already calm.”No need to bother, I only helped you today because I happened to see it. You don’t have to think too much about it. Even if it wasn’t you, I would have gone back to help that person.”

As he spoke, Harland somehow felt like he was trying to cover something up, and that indescribable restlessness came over him again.
