Chapter 59.
You could never be too careful. Jovana frowned and didn’t plan to get in the car.”Sorry, something just
came up…”
Before she could finish talking, someone gave her a hard shove on the back. Jovana held onto the edge of the car, so she didn’t get pushed into the back seat.
“Ah… help!”
“Mmm!”
“Behave yourself! Otherwise we won’t go easy on you.”
The man covered her lips, pushed the car door open with his knee, and tried to force her into the car.
“What are you wasting words with her for? Just use force!” The man in the driver’s seat finally spoke. The mask hid his real face. He was clearly smiling, but it still made people’s hair stand on end.
Jovana broke out in a cold sweat on her back and started struggling desperately.
The man who was holding him back suddenly got kicked, his face changed right away, and he slapped her
hard!
“Bitch!”
Jovana’s face was visibly swollen, tears coming out from the pain, but she still held onto the car door tightly. She knew that if she got in the car, she’d be done for.
All of a sudden, she saw a familiar figure across the street.
It was Armando!
Jovana’s eyes, full of tears, lit up with hope. She didn’t know where the strength came from, but she pulled the man’s right hand away and shouted hoarsely over there.
“Armando…!”
Seemed like he heard something, Armando frowned and looked over here.
Jovana’s nose felt sour, he finally saw her….
But the next moment, a woman showed up in front of him. Juliette, like a happy little bird, hugged his waist and said something. The man lowered his head and kissed her gently.
Jovana’s eyes felt sore and swollen, and the tears just kept falling.
She watched her husband drive away with his lover.
And I was bullied by some thugs…
He saw it, but didn’t care about her.
Jovana’s heart hurt like it was being stabbed, her eyes felt like they were about to split, and bloodshot veins covered her eyes.
“That was the future Mrs. Dunbar. You weren’t even good enough to carry her shoes!”

The man behind her cursed, grabbed her hand on the car door with brute force, and shoved her into the
car.
Suddenly, a dark figure rushed over, kicked the man to the ground, and grabbed the tottering Jovana.
“Are you okay?”
The man in the driver’s seat sensed something was wrong, frowned in frustration, stepped on the gas, and sped off.
Harland’s eyes were dark as ink. He glanced at the license plate of the taxi speeding away, then looked down at the unconscious person in his arms.
His brows furrowed even more.
Rhett rushed over, panting, “Mr. Frasier already told our guys to go after them.”
Harland picked up the person in his arms and walked toward the car nearby. He said coldly, “Check this license plate with the police.”
Rhett nodded and looked at the two of them. He froze for a second. Jovana’s clothes were covered in black paint and dirt. Wasn’t Harland a neat freak? Why was he hugging her?
He paused for a moment, then quietly followed.
Hospital.
Checked it and put on the medicine.
Harland held Jovana and walked toward the hospital room, then gently put her on the bed…
When he got up, he found someone grabbing his shirt… He tugged at it, but it didn’t come loose.
Jovana was still dazed, her mind stuck on the scene where that thug bullied her, while Armando just left her and walked away with Juliette.
Jovana sobbed in despair, her nose and eyes tinged with a faint red. Her crying sounded weak and broken, as pitiful as a wounded baby animal.
Harland’s eyes darkened as he glanced at her pitiful little face. Her right cheek was red and swollen from being slapped, and it only got a bit better after some medicine.
His eyes went cold for a second, and he raised his hand to wipe her tears.
It could hang in the air, then clench into a fist, hold back and pull away, reaching to grab her hand that was clutching the shirt.
The soft touch, he pressed his lips together.
“It hurt… don’t go, don’t go…” Jovana murmured in pain,”Cold… it hurts…”
Harland paused a bit, catching a word, cold?
His eyes wandered over the bed and he saw the neatly arranged quilts, some thick and some thin.
Harland frowned. He hadn’t taken care of anyone himself yet…

In my car was the woman’s soft, pitiful voice.
