Chapter 53.
“Something came up, I gotta go first.”
Not too cold, not too hot.
This made Armando feel really bad.
It seemed like just hearing a husband from Jovana was a luxury. Why was she so hard to please now?
He pressed his brow with a headache.

Jovana had a social event at eleven.
The Marketing Department was built up by her alone, and every product was carefully picked by her she just couldn’t let any of them go.
Even if she had to leave, she still wanted to put a perfect ending to it.
Skyline Tower.
9th floor banquet hall.
Jovana handed in her ticket and walked in slowly, checking the time now and then, waiting for someone.
After a while, there was a noise at the entrance.
Came so late, so their status must have been special.
Jovana raised her eyebrows and couldn’t help but glance over. She saw Harland right away, standing out in the center, surrounded by everyone like a star. Among all the executives, he really stood out.
Standing next to him, surprisingly, was Tatiana.
The guy was handsome and the girl was pretty, even their vibe was similar, no wonder they were a couple.
Jovana thought like this.
Tatiana walked over arm in arm with Harland, a smile on her lips, “Ms. Atherton is here too.”
Harland gave a reserved nod, which counted as a greeting, and looked pretty indifferent.
“Come talk some business with the Deross Group.” Jovana smiled, her eyes briefly glancing over the man’s cold face, a bit confused. Yesterday everything was fine, and he even helped her.
Hearing that word, Harland frowned slightly and asked, “Alone?”
“There’s also Mr. Crosier from the branch office.” Jovana looked up and met his eyes. Although she was surprised he asked this, she still told the truth.
Harland nodded and didn’t say anything else.
At that moment, the phone in Jovana’s bag started vibrating. The person she was waiting for had arrived.
“You go take care of your stuff first, we’ll talk some other time if there’s a chance,” Tatiana said to smooth things over.

“Okay, I’ll go to Freyja Group another day.”
Jovana smiled and said yes, walked toward Area C, and answered the phone.
Today, because she had to go to a party, she rarely wore a dress-a fitted mermaid skirt.
The slim figure stood out in the crowd.
Harland’s eyes were deep, and he quietly looked away.
“Did you seem kind of weird today?” Tatiana gave him a meaningful look.
Harland pulled his arm back, straightened the slightly wrinkled cuff, and walked toward the seats up ahead. He said coolly, “Find someone else for this kind of banquet next time.”
“Ah! I was just saying it casually!”
Tatiana was a bit flustered. She still needed Harland for her next quarter’s project. She couldn’t do it without him.
“Ms. Atherton, over here.”
Zachary Crosier saw her from a distance and waved at her.
Zachary was a veteran at the Dunbar Group and was the president of a branch. He had been in business for over ten years, and everything he did showed how smooth he was.
A smiling tiger.
Jovana hung up the phone, walked over, and said, “Mr. Crosier.”
“Armando didn’t come with you?” Zachary teased.
Jovana smiled, “No, work was work, life was life.”
Zachary smiled.
The two of them exchanged a few pleasantries, then Zachary got to the point and reminded, “The Deross Group sent Evan this time. He’s new to the job and pretty hard to deal with. I’ll try my best to block drinks
for
you, but if I can’t, just have a few and be careful.”
Jovana couldn’t help but feel warm inside, “Thank you, Mr. Crosier.”
Pushed open the private room door.
Evan Hester looked up when he heard the sound, and right away spotted Jovana behind Zachary. She looked confident. He showed a hint of admiration in his eyes and raised his eyebrows.
Zachary smiled and shook his hand, “Mr. Hester, seeing is believing, nice to meet you.”
“Mr. Crosier flattered me.”
Evan smiled faintly and looked at Jovana behind him, curling his lips, “So this is Mr. Dunbar’s wife, Jovana Atherton? Ms. Atherton?”
Jovana smiled, reached out her right hand and shook his politely, “Hi.”

After some small talk, we got down to business.
Glasses clinked at the table.
Red ones and white ones, several bottles were already empty.
Zachary blocked a lot of drinks for Jovana.

Evan was really tough to crack, a real hard nut. Both sides talked for two hours, and in the end, they signed next quarter’s deal at a middle-ground price.
