Chapter 48.

Jovana paused.

The next moment, she heard some hurried footsteps outside the door.

Right after that, there was a hurried knock at the door.

Juliette thought things weren’t dramatic enough, so she raised her voice on purpose and shouted, “Ms. Atherton, I have something urgent to talk to you about. Are you asleep? Can you open the door?”

Knock, knock!

These hammer-like sounds hit Jovana’s eardrums.

She glared at the door.

Was there still anything unclear? That bitch Juliette only remembered the good, not the bad, and caused trouble for her again. That servant was obviously bribed by her.

But things already had no way to turn back.

If Juliette saw it, then she was done for.

Tatiana’s side, Armando’s side, no evidence, she couldn’t explain herself even if she tried!

For now, I could only…

She steadied herself, looked up at Harland, her voice hoarse, “Mr. Frasier, things were a bit urgent, could you hide for a bit first?”

Harland looked at the narrow wardrobe in front of him and frowned.

When had he ever been treated like this?

The man was obviously not willing.

Jovana’s heart sank.

Yeah, stuff like this didn’t really matter to men. She had nothing to do with Harland, so why would he bother to help her?

At that moment, there was another commotion at the door!

“Vana.” It was Armando’s voice, and you could tell he was holding back anger. He forced a smile and said, “Grandma was worried about you, so she asked me to take you home.”

As the words fell, Jovana’s heart went completely cold, scared and on edge.

“Vana?” Armando’s patience was running out.

Juliette couldn’t hide the smile at the corner of her mouth and said with meaning, “Mr. Dunbar, did something happen to Ms. Atherton in there? I’ve been waiting outside for quite a while and she still

hasn’t come out!”

Sure enough.

Armando’s face visibly darkened, and his hand clenched into a fist.

Surprised? Maybe she was actually with Harland?

He had no patience left, his thick eyebrows were all scrunched up, and his eyes finally landed on the hair clip on Juliette’s head.

He tore it off, straightened it, and stuck it into the keyhole…

Bang!

The door was pushed open.

Armando saw Jovana curled up on the couch right away, her eyes and face all red, looking like a little kitten that had been wronged.

The two looked at each other.

He frowned, and his heart hurt for a moment.

Then he clenched his fists. For the first time, he didn’t care about her feelings, but looked for someone all over the room.

Juliette was even more obvious, almost showing her joy on her face, wishing he would hurry up and find Harland.

The sound of rummaging behind me kept coming, and the noise of the man searching through boxes and cabinets was even more grating.

It was like a bunch of slaps, hitting her face.

It was like she did something unforgivable.

Jovana’s eyes trembled, and her heart was clenched.

Sad, ridiculous.

This was the man she had loved for so many years, and in the end, he didn’t even have the most basic trust in her! Only suspicion!

Armando looked for a long time, but there wasn’t even a single men’s product, let alone any men.

You hid it really well.

Armando looked gloomy and walked up to Jovana.

Looked down at her from above.

Like I was being interrogated.

“Vana, were you alone?”

“Or what?” Jovana sniffed and looked up at him, her eyes shining with tears.”You came to me because you thought I did something to hurt you?”

“Armando, you didn’t believe me?”

Armando was stunned for a moment, looking pained. The thing he couldn’t stand the most was Jovana feeling wronged.

She softened her voice, lowered her head, and he was probably helpless.

Armando closed his eyes for a moment and reached out to wipe her tears, “Vana…”

Juliette saw that and quickly stepped forward, saying anxiously, Ms. Atherton, I came to talk to you about work. You were clearly in the room, so why didn’t you open the door for so long? What were you doing?”

Yeah, why didn’t you open the door for so long.

So much time, you could do anything!

Armando looked up and saw the glaring big bed in the bedroom. Maybe not long ago, there was some wild action going on right there!

He touched Jovana’s delicate cheek, but his tone was icy cold.

“Why didn’t you open the door?”
