At the same time, the bedroom door was pushed open.
Armando came in, carrying a foot bath bucket, and put it by Jovana’s feet with a worried look.
“Vana, your period has lasted a week. Did you catch a cold recently or something? I found an old traditional doctor, and he told me some useful herbs. Just have a foot bath for a bit. The doctor said it worked really well.”
Armando squatted down in front of her, held her slender ankles, and put her feet in the bucket, washing her feet himself.
It looked totally different from that commanding and decisive president in the company.
If outsiders saw this scene, they would definitely be jealous.
But Jovana’s eyes turned red, and her hand holding the phone stiffened.
There were messages from Juliette, and the contents really hurt Jovana’s heart.
Juliette:“Ms. Atherton, even if you took photos of me hitting Vonda, so what? I just said a few words to Armando, and he helped me get your phone without any hesitation. Now I’ve deleted all those photos!”
Juliette:“You know what? After you left the club that night, Armando went so wild in bed. I almost couldn’t handle it!”
Juliette:“And you, just like a fool, are kept in the dark by him and his buddies!”
Jovana tried so hard to hold back the tears and looked at Armando numbly.
She was indeed a total fool and actually got fooled by Armando for so long.
She naively thought that he was faithful to her.
Armando’s guilty, self–blaming voice kept sounding in her ear.
He looked up at her, saying softly, “It’s all my fault. I didn’t take good care of you. Can you forgive me this time?”
Jovana lowered her eyes, hiding the redness in them. After a moment, she chuckled, “It’s okay.”
It didn’t matter anymore.
He wanted to fool her like she was an idiot, didn’t he?
She would let him.
Armando finished wiping Jovana’s feet. When he heard Jovana’s reply, all the gloom in his heart disappeared. He stood up and hugged her tightly, rubbing his face against her neck.
“Thanks, honey. Oh, right, didn’t you say you wanted to go to your grandma’s place last time? How about I go with you tomorrow?”
Was this the compensation from him after he betrayed her?
It was like ‘carrot and stick“.
“Okay.”
Jovana chuckled with a bit of self–mockery. After all, her grandma indeed wanted to see Armando.
She broke free from Armando’s arms, turned her back to him, and lay on the bed.
“Sleep. I’m a bit tired. I won’t have any late–night snacks. I’m too sick to eat anything…”
Because Armando was happy, and Jovana’s voice was too light, he didn’t hear Jovana’s last sentence. He leaned over, kissed her on the cheek, then lay down next to her.
“Good night, honey, he whispered.
Jovana responded perfunctorily and rubbed hard at the cheek Armando had just kissed. After Armando fell asleep, she lifted the blanket and
got up.
Then, she walked to the calendar and put an “X” on the 27th.
There were 26 days before she left.
She didn’t go back to bed. Instead, she went to the study and kept working on her jewelry designs.

There were a few details where she got some new inspiration today and needed to make some changes.
She had already misjudged a man.
Now, she couldn’t lose her career.
The next day, when Armando woke up, he instinctively reached out to hold Jovana next to him, but he only felt a cold spot. His mind suddenly got a lot clearer, and for some reason, he actually felt a kind of panic.
‘Honey?”
He got out of bed and checked the bedroom, bathroom, and changing room, but he didn’t find Jovana.
When his eyes landed on the calendar on the wall, he saw those big red X marks. There were already four of them. Suddenly, a wave of unspeakable panic hit him.
Suddenly, Jovana pushed the door open and came in. She had already done her makeup.“What’s wrong?”
Armando snapped back to reality and saw Jovana standing there safe and sound. The heaviness in his heart immediately cleared up.
He quickly walked over and hugged her.
Rubbing her back with his hands, he murmured, “It’s good that you’re still here.”
He said in his heart, “I’ve really thought too much about it. How could Jovana possibly leave me?
“She’ll always be with me.”
Jovana could tell he sounded a bit lost. She gave a mocking smirk and pushed him away.
‘Alright, time to go to the office. We still have to go to Grandma’s place at noon.”
“Okay. You’re the boss,” Armando smiled.

Jovana’s grandma, Ingrid Atherton, was getting on in years. As soon as she heard Jovana say she’d come over with Armando at noon, she started preparing lunch in the morning.
