She scoffed, “Someone with a family shouldn’t say something that shameless. You’re just more disgusting.”
The man’s face darkened. He grabbed her wrist and stared at the ring on her ring finger.
Sarcastically, he remarked, “You’re no different. You come here in such an outfit to flaunt your charm as a married woman.
“We’re all here for the same reason. Take the hint and stop pretending to be committed.”
Jovana’s eyes narrowed sharply. She lifted a foot and kicked him hard.
As he stumbled, she turned to leave.
“Fuck!” the man spat and forced himself to catch up.
Jovana strode away. When passing the corner, she suddenly bumped into a strong man. It hurt a lot.
She clutched her throbbing nose, catching a whiff of a clean, crisp scent.
Then her shoulder felt a light weight.
A man’s deep, cold voice came from above, “You okay?”
Jovana waved him off through the pain, not glancing at his face as she started to walk away.
At that moment, a rough, angry voice shouted, “Stop right there! You just kicked me…”
The words died in his throat when he saw the tall, imposing man beside Jovana.
He pointed a finger at Jovana, sneering, “I just knew you weren’t any good. All that talk about decency, and you’re already hooked up with another guy!”
Jovana’s face turned cold.
She was about to speak when the man was kicked to the ground by a bodyguard, howling in pain.
The manager rushed over on hearing the commotion. When he saw Harland Frasier, his heart skipped a beat.
“Mr. Frasier, I’m so sorry for the trouble. I’ll have him thrown out right away.”
Jovana hadn’t heard of that name in Los Angeles.
She couldn’t help but look up at him.
His flawless profile was sharp and cold, his features clean and refined. He wore a custom black suit, tall and straight, with a Windsor knot perfectly tied at his collar. Every move he made was full of elegance.
Harland narrowed his eyes, giving the manager a cold laugh.
“Could these people act so recklessly without the managers turning a blind eye? At this rate, one might think you’re running a brothel.”
The manager broke out in a cold sweat, not daring to look Harland in the eye.
“I’ll definitely fix it. It won’t happen again…”
As he spoke, he looked at Jovana again, “This is your girlfriend, right? We were blind and didn’t recognize her. It won’t happen again! How about this? Tonight’s bill is on the house, okay?”
Harland and Jovana were both stunned.
“No! You got it wrong!” Jovana quickly denied.“I’ll pay for my drinks.”
As she spoke, she rummaged through her bag for her phone.
However, she just couldn’t find it.
Jovana frowned.
Only Armando had touched her bag. Did he take her phone? Why?
A thought hit her, and her rummaging stopped short.
Armando must have taken her phone to delete the photos for Juliette.
Had he not thought about what would happen if she ran into danger and couldn’t call for help without a phone?

In a flash, Jovana was overcome by all kinds of emotions.
The manager looked suspicious.“Miss?”
Jovana snapped back to reality, tried to compose herself, and said a bit awkwardly, “Sir, I lost my phone, so I might not be able to pay. How about this? I’ll leave my ID here and pay you tomorrow, okay?”
I’ll pay it for you, Harland suddenly spoke.
Jovana looked a bit embarrassed, pressed her lips together, and sneaked a glance at him.
He looked indifferent, like it didn’t matter. Likely, such a small amount meant nothing to him, just a casual favor.
“Thanks” Jovana pressed her lips together. “How about you give me your contact info? I’ll pay you back later.”
