He shot a glance at Keane, who was standing next to him. “Notify the legal team to redraft the contract. Split it 50-50 and shorten the term, like I said.” 

Robert shot to his feet. “I never agreed to shortening the term!” 

The moment he stood, a group of bodyguards led by Silas swiftly surrounded the conference room and blocked every exit. Every bodyguard trained by the Whites was an elite fighter, and their intimidating presence alone sent chills down the spines of everyone present. 

Terrified, Robert sank back into his seat and softened his tone. “What is this about, Mr. White? 

With no one else daring to back him up, he didn’t have the guts to keep challenging Lucius right on his turf. What he truly feared wasn’t just the White family’s century–old influence, but also the mysterious figure backing Lucius–REX!

Leaning lazily in the head seat, Lucius said, “It’s the whole lot of you who have been stirring up trouble the entire time.” 

Soon, lawyers from Leviathan Incorporated’s legal team arrived. Each lawyer was equipped with a laptop, and they began revising the contracts on the spot. 

The display of authority left the crowd dumbfounded, and someone finally said, “Yates Group won’t be participating in these amendments, Mr. White. We apologize for any offense and hope for a smooth partnership with Leviathan Inc. in the coming years.” 

In their wavering judgment, they’d forgotten just how formidable Lucius could be. Sacrificing long–term future gains for such short–term profits was a losing proposition by any measure.

The other saw the situation turning sour and quickly followed suit to excuse themselves from further trouble. No one wanted to risk losing the support of the White family over trivial gains. 

Left alone and abandoned by his companions, Robert shivered in fear. “This is just a misunderstanding, Mr. White. Please don’t take it to heart.” 

Lucius turned to the legal team and announced, “Draft an immediate termination contract with Trustline Real Estate. From today onward, all partnerships involving Trustline Real Estate shall be canceled.” 

“That’s far too harsh, Mr. White!” Robert was aghast. 

As Lucius raised a hand, several guards immediately stepped forward, seized Robert, and unceremoniously escorted him out. 

The spacious meeting room was now empty except for Lucius and Darrell, who had remained silent the whole time. This was the first time the two had met since the cruise ship incident. 

Lucius was the first to break the silence. “What are your thoughts, Mr. Foster?” 

Darrell smiled and replied, “I’m here just as a spectator.” 

“Was it entertaining?” 

“Quite riveting.” Lucius‘ decisiveness in business had always commanded Darrell’s respect. 

Lucius poured two glasses of wine before saying, “I heard you narrowly escaped death. Shall we drink to that?” 

Darrell accepted a glass and gently swirled it. “There are rumors that Caelus boarded the cruise ship through my connections. How much of that do you believe?” 

As Lucius studied the liquid in his glass, he replied, “There are rumors that someone tried to kill you in the hospital, and that I was behind it. How much of that do you believe, Mr. Foster?” 

“Just rumors not to be taken seriously.” Darrell chuckled and clinked his glass against Lucius‘ before the latter returned the gesture. 

“I’m glad we see eye to eye on this.”
