Chapter 118

Right in front of Hannah, Valerie wrapped her arms around Lucius’ and said in a sweet, syrupy voice, “Of course, he should be making exceptions for me. After all, my dear cousin treats me

the best.”

Cousin?

The word surprised Lucius for a moment.

What kind of bizarre role had Valerie thrown herself into this time?

Sure enough, a flicker of jealousy appeared in Hannah’s eyes when Valerie clung to his arm.

There was the proof she was looking for. Valerie had always wondered why Hannah, whom Valerie had never interacted with before, would treat her with such hostility.

Sure enough, it was all because of Lucius, the scumbag.

Valerie was never someone who would let herself be at a disadvantage. Whatever Hannah hated, Valerie would deliberately do.

She hung off Lucius’ arm like a koala, using a voice so sweet that even she found it disgusting. “Lucius, my leg suddenly hurts a little. Carry me to the dining table, would you?”

Lucius, leaning on his cane, was speechless.

Hannah couldn’t stand it anymore. “Mr. White’s leg is still injured, Ms. Collins. Please don’t make things difficult for him.”

She had already disliked Valerie to begin with, but the irritation was boiling over now.

In the next second, Lucius tossed his cane aside and swept Valerie into his arms.

Hannah’s eyes burned with fury. What was so special about Valerie that made Lucius spoil her like this?

In truth, Lucius’ leg injury was only superficial. His bones were fine, and the crutch was merely a ruse meant to mislead outsiders.

The dining table wasn’t far away, but Lucius still couldn’t bring himself to put her down.

He chuckled softly. “Once we sit down, do you want me to feed you, too?”

Valerie blinked at him, licking her slightly dry lips as she replied teasingly, “Sure, Lucius. I’ll wait for you to feed me.”

A wicked fire surged through Lucius, setting his whole body ablaze.

If it weren’t for the inconvenience of where they were, he might’ve already torn away every barrier on her body.

When Hannah left angrily, Valerie pushed him lightly. “The show’s over. Reel yourself back in.

Lucius sat down in the dining chair, but he pulled her onto his lap instead. He whispered close to her ear, “I wasn’t acting. I was serious.”

“Serious about what?”

“Eating you up!”

“Right here?”

That was when Lucius realized they were in his dining room.

Valerie really had a knack for breaking through his cold, restrained facade every single time.

Ever since she had stepped into his life, he’d not only grown used to her presence but also found himself wanting to keep her for good.

It hit him belatedly that he might actually like Valerie.

He finally loosened his hold and let her sit beside him. “Why did you suddenly call me your

cousin?”

Pouring herself a glass of water, Valerie asked, “Didn’t you tell the staff that I’m your distant relative?”

“So, from now on, we’re cousins as long as we’re in this house?”

“I wouldn’t mind being your aunt, either.” [1

Lucius affectionately brushed her nose. “You’re such a tease.”

Noticing Hannah secretly peeking at them from the corner, Valerie lowered her voice. “Before I moved in, did Hannah warm your bed?”

Lucius’ expression immediately soured. “That’s a crude joke.”

Valerie covered her mouth, pretending to laugh softly. “Even if you admitted it, I wouldn’t judge. It’s quite normal for men to have a few lovers.”

Lucius found his mood suddenly worsening. “You don’t mind me keeping a few mistresses around?”

AFFECTIN

Valerei smiled faintly. “I only like acting. I never get attached to the role.” Lucius said slowly, “She’s not my lover.”
