Chapter 11 

Nate tried to say something else, but Rose cut him off indignantly, “You’re protecting her now?” 

Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared at Nate, her face contorted with utter hate. “You were always on my side! You said you’d help me! What changed?” 

Nate let out a bitter smile, his voice thick with pain. “Rose… I’ve been wrong all these years. Why can’t you just let go?” 

“Let go?” Rose laughed, manic and sharp. “Why should I let go? I only did what you did first! You lied to her and used her for my sake. And now I’m the one who’s gone too far?” 

Her gaze turned increasingly mad as she sneered, “Are you regretting it now? That’s too bad. Diana doesn’t want you anymore! She’s long done with you!” 

A flicker of agony crossed Nate’s face, his pupils constricted like he’d just been dealt the 

final blow. He understood far too late how foolish and disgraceful his choices had been. 

However, I no longer cared about anything that had to do with them. 

I looked at Nate and said calmly, “The ambulance is almost here.” 

He was silent for a long while before he rasped, “Diana… is there any way we can go back to 

how it used to be?” 

I laughed drily. 

Go back? He’d torn that life apart with his own hands. He was in no position to ask for it 

back. 

The me from back then had already died in the pain and heartbreak. 

I looked at him and replied icily, “Nate, there is no going back. Don’t think that acting sorry and wounded will cleanse your sins. You chose to mark me and make me your mate. You lied about my infertility. You turned around and plotted with Rose to deceive me.

“Do you think your apology is worth anything now? What good is it? Oh, so you’re in pain now? Why, isn’t that pathetic?” 

Each word stabbed straight into his heart like a blade. 

Finally, his hand fell limp to the ground. His eyes were filled with helpless pain and regret. 

But that was no longer my concern. 

Rose got the punishment she long deserved this time. She had driven with the intention to 

run me over, so it was attempted murder. Her crime was heinous and undeniable. 

My parents used their power and authority to have her formally charged and locked away. This time, there was no way she could escape or worm her way out. 

Charlie and Elle, who doted on her and spoiled her silly, were panicked when they heard of Rose’s life imprisonment verdict. They came to me anxiously and begged me to show 

mercy. 

Elle sobbed uncontrollably while gripping my hand and pleading, “Diana, no matter what happened… we raised you. Rose is still young. Do you have to be so heartless?” 

Charlie stood beside her solemnly. He said in a low voice, “You’re doing well now. There’s no need to ruin her completely.” 

I stared at them, feeling absolutely nothing in my heart. 

That so–called “upbringing” they spoke of had never been out of love. It was all just a 

transaction. I was a tool to elevate and build Rose up. 

And now, after Rose had ruined her own life, they wanted to guilt–trip me into forgiveness? 

What a joke. 

I pulled my hand away as a cold smile played on my lips. 

I said icily and firmly, “I told you long ago that ever since the day you cast me out, there’s nothing left between us. Don’t use family ties to manipulate me. You lost that right.”

Their faces turned ashen.

I watched their despairing expressions, but there was no pity in my heart–only scorn. 

In the end, Rose went mad in prison. Nate was left permanently crippled from that crash. 

The Roth family fell into ruins. 

Everything returned to its rightful place. The story had come to a close. 

I had finally broken free from that twisted family’s cold, calculating grip and stepped into a future that was truly my own. 

The nightmare was over, and those who betrayed me got exactly what they deserved. 

As for me, I would never look back again.
