Chapter 987
“Jamie never kidnapped Sharon. But if this keeps up… it might just become the truth,” Johanna said.
Richard turned to Sharon, troubled. “Sharon, can you provide any evidence?”
She couldn’t. If she had evidence, would Jamie still be strutting about unscathed?
Just as Sharon hesitated, a steady hand pressed lightly against her shoulder. Her lashes
flickered.
Thomas looked straight at Richard. “If we can produce evidence, will the Kalen family end all cooperation with the Walton family?”
He knew well that the Kalen-Walton partnership was one of Sharon’s greatest obstacles going into the Kalen Group. As long as the two families remained tied together, Jamie would always find ways to target her.
Killing a man was one thing-but when a family head suddenly dropped dead, the aftermath was always messy. The Ferrero family itself was proof enough. Since Sharon wanted power, brute force could no longer be her weapon of choice.
Richard’s expression faltered. Thomas sounded so certain-did they truly have evidence?
Victoria frowned, glancing at Jamie. Even now, she wasn’t sure whether he had really kidnapped Sharon. With so many people present, however, it wasn’t the time to press for
the truth.
Jamie’s gaze sharpened. He was confident he had covered his tracks-no loose ends, no mistakes. If Sharon and Thomas were putting on a show, it was nothing more than a bluff.

Besides, Victoria had mentioned the Kalen family’s interest in acquiring Sharon’s original shares. If this dispute could be twisted into a chance to seize them, all the better. If Sharon lost her original shares, no one could stop Victoria’s rise. He could even persuade Richard to

Turning the thought over, Jamie spoke at last, “If you truly prove that I did it, the Kalen family won’t need to cut ties. I’ll dissolve the partnership myself. But what if you have no evidence?”
His eyes pinned Sharon. “Sharon already put cancellation of cooperation on the table. A flimsy apology won’t cut it.”
Before she could respond, the pressure on her shoulder grew heavier. Sharon understood- Thomas wanted her to trust him.
She smiled faintly. “If we fail to provide evidence, I’ll agree to sell my original shares.”
The room shifted. Both Richard and Rick’s eyes darkened in an instant.
Those original shares, if sold on the open market, would instantly place Sharon among the global financial elite. The idea that Silas and Scott thought they could just snatch them for free was absurd. The sheer value of that stock was enough to make anyone consider treachery.
Scott and Silas were far too naive.
If the Kalen family successfully reacquired those shares, they would wield absolute control over the corporation, immune to the influence of any other shareholder. They could even begin buying back the fragmented shares that had been lost over the generations.
Under that staggering prospect, how could Richard and Rick’s faces not change?
A slick, satisfied smile spread across Jamie’s face. “Excellent. Then it’s settled. We can summon a lawyer now to draft the agreement.”
He sounded almost desperate to seal the deal, as though afraid Sharon might change her mind.
She answered coolly, “No problem.”

Jamie added, “Since you claim to have evidence, I’ll give you three days to present it. That should be enough. Any longer, and people might think you’re fabricating it.”
This time, Thomas answered, “Three days, then.”
