Chapter 960
But before Damien could step through the doorway, someone blocked his path.
A clear, cool voice rang out from the side.
“Damien, what exactly do you think you’re doing?”
Damien cast Thomas a sidelong glance and spat, “Fuck off!”
Thomas’s lips curved faintly. “Sorry, I’m not very good at that. Care to teach me?”
Damien had seen Thomas a few times before and always dismissed him as nothing more than a pampered pretty boy.
That was, until the day he tried to drag Casey away–Sharon had stopped him, and when Damien decided to teach her a lesson, this pretty boy had appeared.
The memory still burned: his hand had been pierced clean through by this guy’s blade.
He was thin and looked frail, yet his skills were frighteningly lethal.
He remembered Casey calling him Thomas.
With Thomas standing guard, getting close to Sharon was no easy feat. 1
A flash of murderous intent slid through Damien’s eyes. Clearly, he would need to find an opportunity to eliminate Thomas. 1
For now, he tore his gaze away and fixed a glare on Sharon.
“Sharon, where are you hiding Lex?”
Sharon almost laughed at the absurdity. Lex, Cole, Damien–were they all deranged? Every time something went wrong, they found a way to blame her.
Uriah lost his patience.
“Utter nonsense! Sharon has been lying here in the hospital for over a month, nursing her injuries. How could she possibly kidnap Lex? And more importantly, why would she?”
Damien faltered, unable to answer under the weight of his grandfather’s words.
Just then, Cole arrived, panting from haste. The moment he saw Uriah in the ward, his expression shifted.
This grandfather of his was the one person he feared most.

He bowed quickly and greeted politely, “Grandpa.”
Uriah gave him a sharp glance.
“Lex still hasn’t been found?”

He was already aware of Lex’s disappearance, though he had kept the matter from Sharon.
Cole stammered, “Y–yes… that’s right.”
Uriah narrowed his eyes.
“Instead of looking for him, you come here to question Sharon? She was kidnapped herself and has been hospitalized ever since. Are you suggesting Lex’s disappearance is tied to her abduction?”
Old foxes were always the sharpest.
Eccentric he might be, but Uriah was far from senile.
Cole’s composure cracked. His eyes darted, his gaze evasive. “Th–that… that’s not…”
Damien cut in abruptly, “Grandpa, Uncle Lex had nothing to do with the kidnapping. He was lured out by a call from Jamie. And the last signal from Lex’s phone came from the same villa where Sharon was held. What are the odds of such a coincidence?”
Uriah’s brows furrowed.
“And what exactly are you implying?”
Damien’s eyes snapped back to Sharon, sharp as arrows.
“That Sharon only pretended to be kidnapped–when in truth, she was the one who took Lex.”
At that moment, Wendy stepped into the room, just in time to hear him. She couldn’t hold her
tongue.
“Spare me! Sharon faked her own kidnapping? Have you no shame? Why don’t you ask Uriah how severe her hand injury is?”
Damien sneered.
“No matter how grave her injury, it’s worthless compared to Lex’s life. Lex is the Malcolm family’s head. Of course, she’d have to wound herself to put on a convincing act. Otherwise, who would believe her?
“And if I’m not mistaken, you still haven’t caught this so–called kidnapper you keep mentioning, have you? Tell me, did you fail to catch him… or—”

His eyes bore into Sharon with merciless accusation.
“Or is it because he never existed at all?”
