Richard and Rick came only after Sharon’s surgery was over and she had woken up.
“We saw online that Sharon was injured and withdrew from the competition,” Richard explained. “So we came to check on her.”

So they only learned of Sharon’s condition through the internet? Were they truly her father and brother?
The thought made Wendy glance toward the hospital room. Raising her voice deliberately, she called out, “Sharon, you have visitors. Do you want to see them?”
Since the Kalen family father and son refused to treat Sharon as family, she saw no reason to extend them courtesy.
Sharon had already heard Richard’s voice. She replied calmly, “Let them in.”
Only then did Wendy step aside, allowing them to enter.
As the two tall, broad-shouldered men walked into the room, Wendy realized she alone would hardly be able to deal with them if trouble arose. She quickly slipped outside, intent on calling for help.
Inside, Richard and Rick froze the moment they saw Sharon.
They had assumed she had only injured her hand by accident, preventing her from continuing in the competition.
They never expected… that she would be hurt this badly.
Richard immediately stepped forward, his expression heavy with concern. “Sharon, your hands… what happened? How could you be injured so severely?”
Sharon looked at the worried face before her, her tone cool. “I was hurt after being kidnapped by Jamie.”
“Jamie?” Richard’s brows furrowed at the name, his distaste plain.
“What exactly happened?” Rick pressed. “How did you end up being kidnapped?”
Sharon had no intention of hiding the truth.
“Jamie believed I was the one who spread the rumor about Victoria being an illegitimate daughter. He blamed me for her withdrawal from the competition, for the public scorn she endured, and decided I had ruined her life. He wanted revenge.”
She paused before continuing, “You must remember how he treated me last time at the Kalen estate. This time, he went further. He captured me and my friend, and destroyed my hands.”
In the statement Wendy had released, she had only mentioned that Sharon was kidnapped and sustained serious injuries to her hands. She had deliberately omitted Jamie’s name.
Carter had reminded her, “Without proof, your accusations hold no weight. Unless you can present evidence that Jamie was behind the abduction, this is nothing but slander.”
Wendy longed to expose Jamie’s true face, but she had no concrete evidence to prove his crime. Their communication devices had been discarded the moment they were captured. Aside from her and Sharon, the only people present had been Lex and Jamie’s men.
And of course, none of them would ever admit to their part in the abduction.
Now that Sharon was a public figure, she couldn’t make baseless accusations without evidence.

Neither had been particularly worried. After all, this was Zachemaine. With Carter protecting her, Sharon shouldn’t have suffered serious harm.
But now they learned it had been Jamie behind it all.
Richard’s voice thundered with rage. “That wretched bastard! Again and again, he torments Sharon, as if our family means nothing to him!”
Rick reminded coldly, “Dad, Sharon hasn’t yet returned to our family. She isn’t officially one of us. Perhaps that’s exactly why he dares act so brazenly.” 1
