Loving DAD 941

Chapter 941

“Wendy, let’s not mention the kidnapping at the hospital. None of this was Julliard’s fault.”

Wendy’s eyes reddened again at Sharon’s words. Even now, in her battered state, Sharon still thought of others first.

She understood-Sharon didn’t want anyone blaming Julliard for failing to protect her.

Choking back her tears, Wendy whispered, “All right. I understand.”

But as soon as she pushed open the ward door, she froze. Four figures stood waiting outside.

Xavier. Julliard. Carter. Thomas.

They were all here, waiting for answers about what had happened to Sharon and Wendy the night before.

The moment Xavier and Julliard had learned Sharon was awake, they had rushed over.

Her hands were ruined-so grievously that even the doctors’ words had carried little hope. They knew, at best, her injuries might not cripple her daily life, but her fingers would never again hold their former agility. For someone like Sharon, the damage was devastating, irreversible-beyond even the skill of the finest surgeons.

None of them had dared to press her for details. None wanted to wound her further.

But Wendy could see the questions burning in their eyes.

“Let’s talk in my room,” she said softly.

Inside Wendy’s ward, she recounted everything that had happened.

From the moment she began speaking, her tears flowed without pause. In the span of a single day, it felt as though she had cried

out a lifetime’s worth of sorrow.

She deliberately skipped over the part about their abduction from the hospital, beginning instead from the moment she regained consciousness. The others, caught up in the horror of what she and Sharon had endured, didn’t notice the omission.

Only Julliard, standing at the back, ground his teeth in silence. His fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles whitened.

He had thought he was avenging Sharon by exposing Victoria’s identity. Who knew it would draw Jamie’s vengeance down upon her instead? (2

He had wanted to grow closer to her, but because of him, she had been taken, dragged into catastrophe, and maimed.

He wanted nothing more than to slap himself bloody.

When Wendy finished speaking, the air turned suffocating.

Every face was dark with rage.

Jamie’s audacity knew no bounds.

Xavier’s eyes narrowed as a thought struck him. “Julliard, is Lex still in your hands?”

Julliard lowered his lashes, hiding the storm in his eyes. “I already released him.” (2)

“So soon?” Xavier frowned. Lex was hardly innocent. He’d wanted to teach him a lesson first, at least collect some interest on

Sharon’s behalf.

Julliard’s voice dropped, cold and deliberate. “He’s still the head of the Malcolm family. He can’t stay missing for long. Besides,

Uriah will arrive this afternoon to examine Sharon’s injuries. If he learns we’re holding Lex, he might refuse to treat her.”

He paused, then added, “Lex was only a pawn. Jamie is the one we need.”

“I’ve already set people on his trail,” Carter said.

No sooner had the words left his lips than a knock came at the door.

Simon entered, his expression grim.

“Mr. Biggs, we’ve found the car Jamie was using. It was empty-only traces of blood inside.”

He hesitated, then continued, “There are signs a helicopter landed nearby. It’s likely Jamie escaped that way.”

Carter’s brow furrowed. The moment he had woken and learned what had happened to Sharon, he had arranged a flight to Listoria City and ordered Simon to track Jamie down without delay.
