Chapter 910
At Julliard’s unexpected words, every gaze shifted to Sharon.
Even she froze in surprise.
Wendy, who had some grasp of his intentions, quickly broke the tension with a laugh.
“Seems Julliard is tired too. Best we all get some rest.”
Julliard nodded and summoned the butler. “Arrange two rooms for Sharon and Wendy.”
“Yes, sir.” The butler bowed and withdrew.
Once their rooms were ready, Sharon went to find Wendy.
Her brows knit in concern. “Wendy, is it really appropriate for us to stay here?”
Wendy waved it off. “It’s safer than risking your life. Besides, I’m with you-what’s there to be afraid of? And Julliard isn’t the sort of man to take advantage. He won’t do anything inappropriate.”
“That’s not what worries me,” Sharon said. “It just feels… improper.”
Wendy knew her friend well. Sharon hated anything that looked like ambiguity between men and women. “Alright then, I’ll talk to him for you.”
Sharon nodded.
Ten minutes later, someone knocked on her door. Wendy entered with Julliard at her side.
“Sharon,” he said, “Wendy tells me you don’t want to stay here. Did something make you uncomfortable?”
Sharon shook her head. “No. I’m just not used to living in someone else’s house.”
After her divorce, she had always kept to her own place, rarely staying anywhere else.
Julliard didn’t press her. Instead, he said, “It’s already late. Stay here for tonight. Tomorrow I’ll have people inspect the hotels. Once we confirm one is secure, you can move there.”
It was, undeniably, a reasonable plan.
Sharon relented. “Thank you, Julliard.”
He smiled. “Whether for our own connection, or for Carter’s sake, this is nothing more than my duty. But Listoria City is big. The sweep might take longer than a day. I’ll do my best to finish within three days. Until then, forgive the inconvenience.”
With that, Sharon could no longer argue.

The next morning, when Julliard came downstairs, he stopped short at the sight of Sharon moving busily in the kitchen.
The doctor had prescribed several herbal remedies for his recovery the night before. Having trained under Uriah, Sharon was no stranger to brewing medicine.
She disliked owing favors. Julliard had saved her life, given her shelter, and gone out of his way to help. She couldn’t simply accept it all without giving something back. Beyond music, her greatest skill was her cooking.
So she had taken it upon herself to prepare breakfast and simmer his medicine.
From the doorway, Julliard found himself watching her intently. For a fleeting moment, he was dazed.
Suddenly, he understood why-despite Nate and Kelly’s endless meddling-Carter had refused to divorce.
The simple warmth of being cared for… was this what it felt like?
“Julliard, you’re up early!”
Wendy’s bright voice jolted him back. He turned with a composed smile.
“Good morning, Wendy.”
Hearing them, Sharon glanced back.
“You two wait in the dining room. I’ll be done in just a moment.
Instead, Julliard stepped inside.
“Let me help.”
Without hesitation, he rolled up his sleeves and began washing vegetables, moving with practiced ease to assist her.
Wendy blinked at the scene, surprised by his smooth movements.
“Julliard… you can cook too?”
