Chapter 907
That Carter had entrusted Julliard with this responsibility was, in truth, only natural.
Sharon asked softly, “How is Carter now?”
Julliard replied, “He’s out of danger, but still unconscious. For him to fight five assassins alone and still manage to save Denise… that was no small feat.”
The memory of Simon’s words-there’s a traitor within Carter’s circle-flashed across Sharon’s mind. She hesitated but chose not to mention it to Julliard.
Listoria City was Julliard’s domain. With Carter incapacitated, the duty of protecting Sharon fell squarely on Julliard’s shoulders.
To prevent any mishap, Julliard personally drove her to and from competitions each day, ate meals at her side, and even followed her on shopping trips. Compared to Thomas in the past, Julliard now spent even more time at her side. 1
After a while, Sharon began to feel uneasy. 1
“Julliard,” she said, “Xavier’s men are already protecting me in secret. If you’re worried, you could assign a few skilled female bodyguards to accompany me. You don’t need to come yourself every day.”
Bodyguards could deter the honorable, but not the cunning.
From kings of old to modern presidents, none left their residences without formidable protection. Yet assassinations still happened. Even with round-the-clock bodyguards, there were always gaps to exploit.
She didn’t want Julliard’s work to be delayed because of her.
But he only smiled. “Sharon, don’t worry about me. I’ve already rearranged my schedule. This was Carter’s request. If anything happened to you because of my negligence, how would I ever face him once he wakes up?”
With Carter’s name invoked, Sharon could say nothing more. He lay unconscious still, and she couldn’t very well argue with his wishes. She could only let it go.
Perhaps because of Julliard’s constant vigilance, nothing had happened to her.
Meanwhile, the scandal of Victoria being an illegitimate daughter had finally died down. Yet the Kalen family’s secrets had been laid bare, leaving them a laughingstock.
Time passed. Soon, another rest period arrived.

During the break, Sharon chose not to return to Amstern City-better safe than sorry.
On the international stage, she remained unstoppable, her scores far ahead of the competition.
To perform Gaze required the mastery of a seasoned violinist. For someone to bring it to life at a contest like this was virtually unmatched.
The finals were fast approaching, and Sharon spent most of her days shut away in her room, practicing.
That afternoon, she was in the music room rehearsing when Wendy entered carrying lunch, with Julliard right beside her.
During breaks, Sharon rarely went out, nor did she let Julliard linger at her side. She preferred him to rest. Seeing him there now caught her off guard.
“Julliard? What brings you here today?”
Julliard’s smile was warm. “Wendy tells me you’ve been cooped up, practicing nonstop. The finals are around the corner. Why not take a break? Let me take you and Wendy out for a walk -clear your head a little.” 1
Sharon hesitated, then shook her head. “Better not. Let’s wait until after the competition.”
She had been especially cautious of late, not wanting to give Jamie any chance to strike. It was stifling, yes, but necessary.
Julliard’s eyes gleamed faintly. “Sharon, I’ve already checked. Last night, Jamie flew back to Marcentine with Victoria. Even if he rushed, he couldn’t possibly return today. While he’s away, let me take you out.”
