“What did you just say?”

Richard’s voice sank like lead. “What’s going on? Why did this break out all of a sudden?”
Before coming, Rick had investigated thoroughly. He now laid out everything he’d uncovered.
“First, Sharon was slandered as an illegitimate child, then immediately afterward, Victoria’s truth was exposed. This is retaliation. The details about Victoria’s mother are far too precise. Other than Sharon, I can’t think of anyone capable of this.” 1
Richard hurled the teacup in his hand to the floor.
Porcelain shattered into shards, scattering across the room.
“That wretched girl!” His voice shook with rage. “Call her. Tell her to come back immediately!
Rick nodded and was about to leave when a thought stopped him in his tracks.
“Dad… what if Sharon thinks we were the ones who leaked her illegitimacy? What if she exposed Victoria to drag her down with her?”
Richard’s chest heaved violently, his breath sharp from anger.
“This wasn’t done on impulse. It was meticulously planned! She’s hated me, hated Victoria, hated our entire family for years!” 1

“Does she not realize the Kalen Group carries Shayla’s blood and sweat as well? Does she not understand that by exposing this, she’s also destroying what her mother built?!”
