Chapter 854
Sharon froze at the words.
“Kelly’s hand… crippled?”
Wendy turned to her, delight glinting in her eyes, her voice dripping with schadenfreude.
“That’s right. Who knows who she offended, but someone destroyed her hand outright. Brutal, isn’t it? They struck her exactly where it hurt most, took away the one thing she cared about most.
“From now on, she’ll never play the violin again. The news is already trending. And instead of pitying her, people are saying it’s karma-that she deserves it for faking her illness.”
As a violinist herself, Sharon knew better than anyone what it meant to lose both passion and career in one blow. Kelly’s skill had never matched hers, but being accepted as Warner’s student meant she was far from ordinary. Now, with her hands destroyed… there could be no harsher form of revenge.
Thomas asked evenly, “Is there any chance of recovery?”
Wendy shook her head. “Her fingers are gone. There’s no coming back from that.” (1)
Sharon gave a nod. “Perhaps it is her retribution for all the harm she’s done.”
Wendy laughed. “Exactly! She’s done so much to hurt Sharon, but what could we do? We couldn’t break the law and go after her ourselves.”
They talked for a while longer, until Wendy suddenly remembered something.
“Oh, right, Thomas. You’ve been so secretive lately. What have you been up to?”
A sly smile tugged at her lips. “Don’t tell me… you’ve found yourself a girlfriend?”
“No,” Thomas replied. “Just stumbled into something interesting.”
Wendy leaned forward, intrigued. “What kind of interesting?”
He paused for several seconds, searching for the right words, then finally said, “Let’s just call it… eliminating evil for the people. A good deed.” 1
Sharon and Wendy exchanged a look of quiet surprise.
As the concert drew near, Sharon’s schedule grew increasingly hectic. This was, after all, the first formal
concert of her career.
With Kelly’s concert canceled, Sharon’s tickets had become impossible to get. Every seat had been sold
out.

On the day of the performance, Victoria and Johanna arrived at the venue. Neither had purchased presale tickets, but for women of their standing, acquiring seats was effortless.
They were placed in the front row. From there, Johanna immediately spotted Thomas sitting a short distance away in the VIP section reserved for close acquaintances.
His striking looks and commanding aura made him impossible to miss. Even in a crowd buzzing with anticipation, he stood out effortlessly. Several wealthy young heiresses, emboldened by the atmosphere, approached him to ask for his number.
Each time, Thomas declined with impeccable politeness.
Victoria was speaking to Johanna, but after a while realized she hadn’t received a single reply. She tumed, only to find Johanna staring intently in Thomas’s direction, her eyes glowing with a strange, shifting light.
There was something new in her expression-something different from the calculating girl who once
only wanted to test him.
Victoria nudged her gently. “Johanna, you haven’t finished your story about Kelly yet.”
Johanna blinked, startled back to the present. “Ah? Where were we?”
“You said she was bailed from prison,” Victoria prompted.
“Yes,” Johanna replied smoothly. “I had already ruined her hands and was just about to destroy her face
when a group of people burst in-”
Her words broke off abruptly.
She had caught sight of a young woman stepping up to Thomas. Whether intentional or not, the woman
stumbled, nearly falling. Thomas instinctively reached out to steady her.
The girl’s face flushed red.
