Chuggs didn’t even finish his sentence before Thomas was already standing in front of him. 

With one hand, Thomas lifted him off the ground as easily as if he were picking up a chicken. 

His eyes—dark, cold, and fathomless–locked onto Chuggs’s face, expressionless. When he spoke, his voice was low and sharp as a blade of ice. 

“And then?” 

On his way back, Thomas had run into a waiter who had “accidentally” spilled wine on him. A man like him- keen, meticulous–didn’t miss things like that. He’d turned back immediately. 

Now, facing those lifeless eyes, Chuggs felt his soul quiver. He had never seen eyes like that before–so empty, so terrifyingly cold. They were the eyes of a dead man, set in the face of someone still breathing. 

He was afraid, but only on instinct. He hadn’t yet realized just how far beyond control this situation had gone. 

He stammered, “Let me deal with her. Whatever happens after, I’ll take responsibility!” 

Thomas’s gaze darkened. “Let her… be handled by you? 

Thinking Thomas was wavering, Chuggs grew bolder. “If you still want her, we can share-” 

“Ah!” 

The rest of the words dissolved into a scream so raw it tore through the air. Even the staff waiting down the corridor heard it. The sound made them freeze. 

Among them was Chuggs’s assistant. He’d tried to delay Thomas earlier, but failed. He’d meant to go warn his boss, but now, hearing that scream, he knew something was terribly wrong. 

Without hesitation, he ran to get help. 

When Chuggs’s father, the patriarch of the Noel family, heard the news, his face drained of color. He rushed to the hotel at once. 

By the time he arrived, a crowd had gathered outside the door. Their faces were pale, eyes wide, their bodies trembling as if they’d seen something unspeakable. 

Forcing his way through, Toni Noel stopped short at the sight. His son lay motionless in a pool of blood. 

Chuggs’s teeth were scattered across the floor. His nose was caved in. His arms and legs were twisted at unnatural angles, folded grotesquely over his back. 

On the way there, the assistant had insisted, as always, that the woman had seduced his boss first. 

Normally, Toni would’ve dismissed such a thing–it wasn’t worth his time–but the woman in question this time was the Kalen family’s heiress, Sharon. That made things… complicated. 1

The shock hit him so hard he could barely breathe. He raised a trembling finger toward Sharon.

At the sound of his voice, Thomas looked up from where he stood.

Thomas hadn’t hesitated, hadn’t spoken, hadn’t even blinked–he had simply pulled the trigger. 

The shock was too much. Toni’s eyes rolled back, and he collapsed to the floor.
