Chapter 1141 

Silas’s brows lifted slightly, clearly pleased. 

“That’s a fine idea. Let’s do it. I’ll contact Q right away.” 

As he turned to leave, Jamie reminded him calmly, “Silas, don’t forget your promise. Once this is done, you’ll help Victoria rise.” 

Silas smiled faintly. “Of course. Victoria is my sister. Who else would I help if not her?” 1 

Then he left. 

With Wendy away, Thomas stayed at the Kalen manor to ensure Sharon’s safety. 

The Kalen family wasn’t large, but the estate was vast. Each resident had an entire floor to themselves, free to decorate it however they wished–study, gym, theater room, conservatory, tearoom–anything suited to personal taste. 

Richard had gifted an entire level to Sharon, to be arranged however she liked. 

Though Thomas lived on the same floor, their rooms were far apart–after all, propriety demanded a bit of distance between men and women. 

After dinner, Sharon worked for a while before remembering that one of her documents might still be with Thomas. 

She walked to his door and knocked. 

“Thomas, are you there?” 

The door opened almost immediately. Thomas had changed into casual clothes; he stepped aside politely. 

“Come in.” 

Sharon entered, explaining the reason for her visit. 

“Thomas, I think I might’ve left a document with you earlier.” 

“I’ll check,” he said, pouring her a glass of water. “Wait a moment, I’ll look through my briefcase.” 

“Okay.” 

While he stepped into the study, Sharon sat quietly on the sofa, taking in the details of his room. 

She truly regarded him as a friend, and the space she’d given him was just as large and comfortable as her own. 

She noticed several potted plants on the balcony and some small, charming ornaments on the table and wardrobe–items that once decorated her home back in Zachemaine. 

When she’d left Zachemaine, she had planned to take almost nothing with her–only the essentials. The rest

she’d given away or thrown out. 

Thomas, however, had said it was a pity to discard them. Since she didn’t plan to keep them, he’d asked for 

them instead. 1 

They were just trinkets, nothing of value, so Sharon had handed them all to him without a second thought. 

She hadn’t expected him to bring every single one here. 

Her gaze drifted, landing on the portrait she’d once painted for him–now carefully framed and hanging in the most prominent spot on the wall. 

A faint smile curved her lips. 

So, he truly liked her work. 

Then, by chance, her eyes flicked toward the desk–and froze. 

There, sitting neatly on top, was a familiar–looking briefcase. 

It looked almost identical to the one Liam had used earlier that day to carry his laptop. 

Just then, Thomas reappeared, holding a few documents. He immediately caught the inquisitive gleam in her 

eyes. 

His gaze darkened slightly as he handed the papers to her. 

“See if this is what you were looking for.” 

Sharon blinked, quickly collecting herself. She took the documents and flipped through them. 

“Yes, this is it.” 

She rose from the sofa. “You should get some rest. I won’t keep you.” 

Thomas walked her to the door himself. “Next time, just call me. No need to come in person.” 

“Got it.” She smiled faintly and turned to leave. 

But just as she stepped out, she hesitated, then glanced back through the narrow crack of the closing door. 

Through the gap, she caught a glimpse of a laptop on his desk–one that looked strikingly similar to Liam’s. 1
