Chapter 1121 

Richard said, “Since Sharon can’t sell her original shares for now and hasn’t come to us for help, perhaps Carter and her other friends have helped her raise the funds?” 

Rick replied, “It’s possible. Carter certainly has the means to pull it off. If he really did help Sharon gather the money, then Silas and Scott will immediately move on to the second phase of our plan.” 

The second phase was simple–attack their companies. 11 

After all, hadn’t they poured all their liquid assets into helping Sharon with the Silverstone Group acquisition? Once she completed the deal, the Kalen family would strike at the Biggs Group and the other companies that had assisted her. With their capital chains already stretched thin, a single hit could push them into crisis. 

If they couldn’t hold out, they’d go bankrupt. 

Even if they managed to survive, they’d still be forced to patch up their financial holes–selling off stocks, bleeding value, and suffering heavy losses. 

And when that happened, the Kalen family would step in–either to acquire their companies outright or short their stocks for profit. 

Sharon, being a deeply sentimental person, would never stand by and watch her allies suffer on her behalf. But once the acquisition was complete, she’d have no money left to repay them. 1 

At that point, selling her original shares would be the only path left to her. 

And once she was desperate to sell, she’d lose leverage–giving ground with every step. The longer. it dragged on, the lower the price her shares would fetch. 

At least now, she still had a sliver of initiative–she could still play the emotional card and negotiate from a position of partial strength. 

Rick’s eyes darkened. “Let’s just hope Sharon isn’t foolish enough to walk straight into the trap.” 

For the Kalen family, the best outcome was clear–wait until Sharon completed her takeover of Silverstone Group, then crush Carter and the others. 1 

Whether they ended up acquiring the original shares or taking control of the Biggs Group, Kalen family stood to gain. Either way, Sharon would lose everything–her allies, her confidence, her foundation. 

But for Sharon, the blow would be devastating. 

She was still a newcomer, still one of their own by blood–Rick had no wish to push her too hard. 1

Rick nodded in agreement. 

For Sharon, giving up the acquisition would be the least damaging choice–especially since she refused to seek the Kalen family’s help. 

But the consequence was clear: without a major achievement to her name, even if she joined Kalen Group later, she’d never command real respect. 

She might hold authority in title, but over time, it would be quietly stripped away–her influence hollowed out bit by bit. 

One way or another, the Kalen family would never lose. And Sharon would never come out ahead. 

Selling her original shares to the Kalen family was, in truth, her best option. 

She would get the money she needed, prove her capability through the acquisition, and secure genuine support once she joined Kalen Group. And with the Kalen family agreeing to buy her shares, they would have no reason to sabotage her afterward. 2

Gerard hadn’t received any notice of cancellation from Sharon, so he went ahead with the scheduled press conference. 

The Silverstone family, though not as financially powerful as the Kalens, held considerable political clout–and the acquisition had drawn significant public attention. 

Whoever managed to buy Silverstone Group’s shares would, in essence, gain the backing of Marcentine’s government itself. That would open doors to resources and connections others could only dream of. 

It was, in fact, the very reason the Kalen family had once sought to acquire the Silverstone Group. 

After all, no matter how useful outsiders might be, nothing compared to having power completely under one’s own control.
