Miles felt an unbearable itch of desire, like his heart was being scratched by a cat’s paw. 

“Of course,” he said with a smirk. “Even if I wanted to deceive someone, I wouldn’t dare deceive a beauty like you, Sharon.” 

Half of Miles’s soul seemed to leave his body. Cup in hand, he leaned forward toward Sharon. 

“Come, let me toast to you, Sharon.” 

A lascivious glint flashed in his eyes. He lifted the cup, intending to hook a finger beneath her delicate chin and feed her the drink himself. 

But Sharon’s expression turned cold in an instant. 

Without hesitation, she snatched the cup from his hand and flung its contents into his face. 

The once–boisterous room fell silent in a heartbeat. 

Everyone stared, wide–eyed, too afraid to even breathe. 

The cold splash shocked Miles sober. He pointed at Sharon, his voice trembling with fury. “You dare throw that at me?! Don’t you want this collaboration anymore?!” 

Expressionless, Sharon replied evenly, “Not enough to make me sell myself.” 

Publicly humiliated, Miles’s face twisted with rage. 

“You filthy whore,” he spat, “pretending to be pure when every man has had his-” 

Before he could finish, someone suddenly grabbed the back of his head and slammed it hard against the table lined with bottles. 

Crash! 

Glass shattered across the floor. 

The sudden violence froze the crowd in terrified silence. 

Miles lay sprawled across the table in a humiliating heap, his head pinned beneath Thomas’s boot. 

Sharon didn’t even flinch. There was no surprise, no outrage in her expression. 

She knew–Miles wasn’t the first, and he wouldn’t be the last. 

“Thomas,” she said calmly, “let’s go.” 

Thomas released his foot and followed her out. 

Outside the private room, Enzo wiped the cold sweat from his brow. “Sharon, I’m so sorry. I didn’t expect things to get out of hand.” 

Sharon didn’t blame him. “I know,” she said. 

Women in the workplace always paid a price. 

When she was a violinist, she’d already faced countless moments like this. Now that she was stepping into the business world, she had braced herself for more of the same. 

Such things wouldn’t end–they would only multiply. 

Meanwhile, in another private room, Miles stumbled in looking utterly defeated. His face was swollen, several front teeth missing, his words whistling through the gaps. 

“Mr. Walton… that pretty boy beside Sharon is too damn tough. I couldn’t do a thing with him there.” 

Jamie lounged elegantly on the sofa, legs crossed, half his face hidden in shadow. His expression was unreadable. 1 

“So what if he’s tough?” Jamie said coolly. “He’s still just one man. Lure her away, and you can do whatever you please.” 

Miles hesitated. “But… she’s still the Kalen heiress…” 

Jamie’s voice turned low and hoarse. “Her relationship with the Kalen family is already strained. Don’t worry. Even if she gets violated, the Kalen family won’t publicize it.” 

Still, Miles looked uncertain. “She’s got quite the temper. I doubt she’d go down easy. Getting her alone won’t be simple.” 

Something small and light flew toward him. He caught it instinctively. 

“This,” Jamie said, “is a colorless, scentless aromatherapy oil. Keep her in the room for five minutes, and even the fiercest woman will turn into a wanton one. As for the rest, leave it to me.”
