Chapter 4
The next day, the Garcia Group’s centennial unfolded with opulent extravagance.
As the festivities peaked, Aaron led me by the hand into the grand hall, making a conspicuous entrance.
The banquet hall fell silent. All eyes fixed on me-the esteemed Mrs. Garcia.
“Isn’t that Mrs. Garcia? What happened to her eye? And why’s she holding another man’s hand?”
“On such an important day, she’s openly seducing another man? She’s deliberately humiliating Jack.”
“Always knew she was ruthless, but now she’s fickle too? Tsk. Disgracing the Garcia name.”
The moment Deborah saw me, hatred flashed in her eyes. Instinctively, she clung to Jack’s arm.
But Jack, breaking character, coldly pushed her away.
He shoved through the crowd, storming toward me-eyes glacial, veins bulging at his temples.
Jack’s first words weren’t surprised to see me, but:
“Who is this man!
What’s going on between you two!”
Jack’s gaze lingered on Aaron for two seconds, his eyes hostile.
He raised his hand to summon bodyguards, pointed at Aaron, and commanded coldly:
“Throw him out!”
As the bodyguards moved, I stepped in front of Aaron first and shouted:
“Let’s see who dares!”
Jack frowned deeper seeing me shield the man behind me.
His tone turned jealous.
“Emily, you’re always so meek. Today you humiliate me for this man?”
I raised our interlocked hands and smiled:
“Jack, weren’t you curious about us?”
“It’s exactly what you think. We’re getting engaged soon.”

Jack stared at me in disbelief:
“Impossible! You’re my wife! Who allowed this?”
“Trying to commit bigamy?”
Calmly, I handed him divorce papers.
“So today, I’m here to end this.”
Jack froze, never expecting me to ask for divorce.
Even if we split, he should dump me.
He glanced at the papers and tore them apart.
Humiliated fury filled his eyes.
“Divorce?”
“Emily, are you insane!”
Jack suddenly snorted, arrogance returning:
“Emily, quit playing hard to get.”
“A gold digger like you won’t leave me.”
“Your parents are dead. Without me, you’re nothing!”
Aaron spoke softly behind me:
“She has me. That’s enough.”
Jack laughed angrily, shoved past bodyguards, and faced us.
Arms crossed, he tilted his chin up, scanning Aaron with contempt.
His voice dripped scorn:
“What trash are you?”
“In San Francisco, my stomp shakes the ground. What gutter spat you out?”
To save face, he shoved Aaron hard and jeered:
“Upset? One snap, and you’re finished here.”
He turned to me, smug:
“Emily, this is your hero? Pathetic.”
Done arguing, I cut to the chase:

“Enough. I need to see Grandpa.”
Jack smirked coldly:
“Grandpa’s busy with an important guest.”
He grabbed my wrist:
“Come back, and I’ll forgive everything.”
I yanked my arm away.
Aaron brushed his shoulder where Jack touched, stepped forward, and held me.
His tone was elegant yet taunting:
“Never knew the Garcia heir was this childish.”
“No wonder Emily dumped you.”
I couldn’t help but lower my head, biting my lip with a light chuckle.
Everyone’s eyes widened, looking cager for drama.
Jack clenched his fists and stepped forward, grinding his teeth, ready to throw a punch:
“Say that again, you bastard!”
I shoved Jack away and snapped:
“Jack, watch your mouth. You’ve got no right to talk about Aaron. At least he’s sincere to me-he wouldn’t dig out n eyes or drain my blood for someone clic!”
Jack stared at me with wounded eyes:
“Didn’t you hear him insulting me? You’re just letting him talk to me like that?”
“If I don’t beat this bastard today, I won’t be a Garcia!”
Just as Jack’s fist swung down, a strong, aged voice cut through from nearby:
“Stop!”
Terry’s voice rang out. The crowd instinctively parted, clearing a path.
Jack gritted his teeth, lowering his hand as he shot me a venomous glare.
“You’d better not upset Grandfather with your nonsense, or you’ll see what I do to you back home.”
I must’ve been blinded by Jack’s pretty face all those years, stupidly loving him for so long.
Now with the blinders off, he’s just a spoiled brat riding the Garcia name-reckless and arrogant.

I ignored him, bowing respectfully to Terry as I offered my gift.
Terry accepted it happily.
When his gaze landed on Aaron beside me, his warm expression turned stern.
He gasped in surprise:
“Mr. Walker? I’ve been waiting for you! How did
The quiet hall erupted into chaos at his words.
you end up with Emily…?”
People exchanged stunned looks, buzzing with whispers.
“What? This guy’s the VIP Terry’s been waiting for?”
“No wonder Emily’s so cocky-she’s latched onto another big shot.”
Jack shook his head, refusing to believe his ears.
“Grandfather, you… you must be mistaken. This bastard’s who you were waiting for?”
Terry’s palm cracked across Jack’s face, leaving him frozen in shock.
“You little shit! Show some respect to Mr. Walker!”
“The Garcia Group broke into international markets thanks to him!”
Terry’s voice turned bitterly self-mocking:
“My apologies for this disgrace, Mr. Walker. I’ve failed to teach my grandson manners.”
“Since you’ve honored us with your presence, please join me in the VIP lounge for tea.”
He then made a respectful “after you” gesture toward Aaron.
But Aaron raised a hand to stop him:
“No rush, Terry. Emily has something to say first.”
Terry looked puzzled but nodded.
I pulled out divorce papers, handing them over as I murmured:
“Grandfather, years ago I saved Jack. You promised if I married him and helped investigate something, you’d them from tearing down my family’s ancestral chapel. You kept your word, so I kept mine-watching Jack day night.”
“Now Jack’s bulldozed our chapel and killed my parents. Our deal’s void. Plus, he’s in love with someone else. So day, I’m divorcing him. I hope you’ll agree.”
