Though the Jones family tried desperately to keep Aaron’s coma under wraps, news of such magnitude couldn’t stay hidden. It spread like wildfire through their circle.
Everyone watched Aaron’s condition closely–anyone with sense knew that if something happened to him, the recently stabilized Jones dynasty would plunge into chaos again.
“What?
A craniotomy with only a 20% success rate?”
As soon as Aaron’s medical consultation results came out, his uncles–barely qualified to make decisions–panicked. They pushed for conservative treatment, even after doctors warned it might leave him in a permanent vegetative state.
None dared shoulder responsibility for Aaron’s death. Old Ryan would never let whoever caused it succeed him. With Aaron unconscious, they saw a chance to carve up the family empire, each according to their abilities.
Their schemes were in full swing when Aaron’s private lawyer appeared, presenting medical authorization documents signed long ago: Aaron had chosen surgery.
“I’ve exhausted every trick to drive Rachel away, and now this mess!”
If Aaron dies on the operating table, wouldn’t that be a fucking waste of all my effort?
No!
Absolutely not!”
Amy nervously bit her nails, her eyes fixed on Aaron lying unconscious in the hospital bed.
“Amy, you’re not actually falling for Aaron, are you?
Didn’t you get with me because you found him cold and unfeeling?”
Adam Jones wrapped his arms around Amy’s waist from behind, a teasing glint in his eyes.
As Aaron’s cousin bearing a striking resemblance to him, Adam had been the most resentful

among their peers during Aaron’s years steering the family business.
Many whispered that Adam had orchestrated the attack on Aaron abroad two years prior, though lacking concrete evidence and mindful of their grandfather Ryan’s aversion to family strife, Aaron had never confronted him.
“Love?
What’s that worth!
My goal has always been one thing–becoming Mrs. Jones.”
“Then marrying me would work just the same, wouldn’t it?”
Adam murmured while nipping at Amy’s neck.
“You?”
Amy shot Adam a disdainful glare. “I gave you a chance, and what happened? Aaron was all alone, and your whole crew couldn’t even take him down. Instead, you let Rachel swoop in and cause me all this trouble!”
“Don’t be mad now. I slipped up two years ago, but this time? No way!” Adam grinned, pinning Amy down on the hospital room’s corner sofa.
Though Amy kept complaining, she secretly relished the thrill of their affair right beside unconscious Aaron. Her moans grew louder than usual.
Adam only got more fired up. “Who’s better–Aaron or me? That guy walks around stony- faced, obsessed with reports and deals. Sometimes I wonder if he’s even capable!”
Lost in their lust, neither noticed movement from the hospital bed–until the partition curtain yanked open. There stood Aaron in his hospital gown, gaze sharp as ice daggers, piercing the tangled pair on the sofa.
Amy spotted him first. Reacting instantly, she wailed despairingly at Aaron while kicking and shoving Adam off her. “Aaron, help me! I… I’m not willing!”
“It was Adam… he forced me!”
Adam, caught off guard with his clothes in disarray, tumbled to the floor. Furious, he slapped Amy across the face. “Damn it! You bitch! I should’ve known you’d betray me!”

With everything exposed, Adam gave up all pretense, embracing his recklessness.
“Aaron, so it was all an act? Hah! Fine, you win. What now? Kill me? You’ve got no proof. How will you explain this to Grandpa?”
Aaron ignored his cousin, his gaze fixed on Amy’s swollen check. “You said he forced you just now. Right?”
Yes! Aaron, you’re the only one I love!”
Amy nodded frantically, her face tear–streaked as she lunged toward Aaron.
But she never reached him. Bodyguards burst into the hospital room and blocked her path.
“Help her report it. Tell the police Adam raped her.”
The moment Aaron spoke, Adam’s face went pale.
