A loud car crash echoed outside the villa, followed immediately by Amy’s screams and cries.
Aaron’s face darkened as he bolted outside.
Rachel hastily wiped her tears and rushed after him. She saw Amy’s car had smashed into an ancient tree near the villa, its front end crushed beyond recognition. Even the driver’s airbag had deployed.
“Amy, don’t be afraid!”
Aaron scooped Amy from the wreckage, his face etched with worry. After carefully examining her and finding only a bruise on her forehead, he visibly relaxed.
But his expression hardened dangerously when he discovered someone had tampered with the brakes.
“Investigate this!
Turn the place upside down if you have to!”
He roared like an enraged lion.
“Mr. Jones, I happened to see… Rachel standing near Amy’s car earlier,” an unfamiliar servant spoke up.
“So it was you!”
Aaron seized Rachel’s collar, eyes narrowed dangerously. “Why? Why keep targeting Amy?”
“It wasn’t me!
My car was damaged… I took it for repairs! I never went near the garage when I returned!”
Rachel protested urgently.
She tried to ignore the pain of Aaron’s suspicion, but his gaze felt like rusted steel needles piercing Rachel’s fingertips.

Alex never doubted her–no matter what, Alex always stood by her side.
“Rachel would never do this! I believe in her!”
Pale–faced Amy defended Rachel, “The garage has cameras. Let’s check the footage to see who’s behind this!”
“…Rachel, it really is you!”
Five minutes later, Amy gasped, covering her mouth while watching the surveillance footage.
Rachel stared in disbelief at the screen: a woman matching her height and attire perfectly stood with her back to the camera, sabotaging Amy’s car brakes!
“Rachel… why would you do this?
Is it because of Aaron?
We’re in love, but I never wanted to take your place!”
Amy wailed desperately at Rachel, her face etched with betrayed anguish, yet triumphant malice flooded her almond–shaped eyes.
Rachel instantly recognized Amy’s setup, but before she could speak, Donna Hall stormed over and slapped her hard across the face.
Rachel, you’ve disappointed me so much!
Apologize to Amy now!
Donna, who took her place as a mistress, despised Rachel–the daughter from her ex- husband.
Rachel knew her mother brought her into the Scott Family solely for her engagement to Aaron. But now Aaron only had eyes for Amy, making Rachel an unwelcome presence.
“Why should I apologize when I didn’t do it?”
Rachel stubbornly stared at her mother, teeth clenched in refusal.
Aaron’s expression darkened further. He signaled his bodyguards, and two burly men stepped forward. One viciously kicked the back of her knee.

“Ugh!”
Rachel collapsed onto the gravel. Sharp stones sliced through her knees and palms as crimson blood instantly pooled against pale rocks–a stark, vivid contrast.
Yet she seemed oblivious to the pain. Tear–filled eyes fixed on Aaron, whose heart unexpectedly skipped a beat.
He remembered nothing about Rachel. Everyone except his grandfather claimed she was a scheming woman who’d exploited his amnesia to climb into his bed.
Aaron should despise such calculating women most. Yet his heart seemed to disagree.
Aaron’s curiosity suddenly sparked about what those two years had been like back then…
“…Ugh, Alex, my head feels so woozy!”
Sensing the shift in Aaron’s mood, Amy immediately faked a pained moan.
Aaron instantly forgot all about Rachel, scooping Amy into his arms as he rushed toward the car. Trailing behind, her mother shot Rachel a glare: “You’ll kneel here and think about what you’ve done. Don’t get up until you’ve learned your lesson!”
