“Uncle Sebastian, you seem a little taller than that other man,” Leo remarked, noticing the 

view was better. 

Sebastian was four inches taller than Shane, so it was more than just a little taller.

Looking at the two figures ahead, he asked casually, “Do you know who that man is? And let him carry you? That’s your Val’s husband. Do you understand what a husband means? It’s someone you eat with, sleep with, and kiss. You do everything together. Leo, that makes him your love rival.” 

Sebastian continued, “Haven’t you noticed lately? She hasn’t been messaging you as much and hasn’t been reaching out first. That’s because her husband is back, so she has nothing to do with you anymore.” 

Leo froze. Then, he suddenly burst into tears. 

Sebastian set Leo down. Then, grabbing Leo by the back of the neck, he turned to head back. 

Leo sobbed and hiccupped, turning his head back every few steps to look at Valeria in the distance before crying even harder. 

Valeria faintly heard the noise. She turned around, only to see Sebastian walking away, carrying Leo with him. 

At the Grant residence, Martha was greeted by her beloved grandson crying so loudly it rattled the walls the moment she came home with Gabriella and Zayn. 

She asked Avery in alarm, “What happened? Weren’t they supposed to just go out and play?” 

Mallory walked over with Zayn. 

Mallory bent down. “Why are you crying? Tell me. Didn’t Uncle Sebastian take you out to play? 

Sebastian was sitting on the couch with his eyes closed. He had a weary, drained expression on his face as he said faintly, “He probably had a breakup.” 

Leo wailed even louder, as if to confirm it. 

Mallory glanced at Zayn and then at Martha. The adults exchanged baffled glances. 

Martha shot Sebastian a glare. “What nonsense are you spouting? A breakup? Seriously?” Leo sobbed, “She doesn’t like me anymore…”

Martha blinked. “Who?” 

Mallory and Zayn were exasperated. Mallory hadn’t expected her son to really be “heartbroken 

She lowered her voice. “Did he have a fight with one of his classmates?” 

Zayn scooped Leo up and carried him upstairs to soothe him, with Mallory following close 

behind. 

Everyone just assumed it was a squabble between kids and that Leo was being dramatic. 

Martha chuckled in relief. “I got scared for a second.” 

The whole family was gathered for the holidays, so Martha had a joyful look on her face. 

She sat down and glanced at Sebastian. 

He was reclining on the chaise, and his legs were stretched out over a footstool. 

His eyes remained closed, and shadows of exhaustion could be seen under them. In just a few days, he seemed leaner, which made his jaw even more pronounced. 

Martha’s heart ached for Sebastian. “It’s the middle of the holiday season. Why are you on duty every day?” 

Sebastian didn’t answer. 

Martha continued, “You’re about to turn 29. Time flies, doesn’t it?” 

He opened his eyes. “Birthdays aren’t worth celebrating. Tell Dad to cancel it.” 

“No way,” Martha said firmly. “You must celebrate it. All I want is to see you healthy, year after year.” 

Florian had looked a lot like Sebastian. After all, they were twins. 

She said, “It’s the holidays. We should all be happy. But look at that emotionless face of yours.” 

Sebastian gave her a perfunctory smile. 

“You also need to think about your personal life,” Martha said gently. “I won’t pressure you, but we need to take a step forward. Our family may not have a throne to inherit, but the Grant Group still needs a future.” 

Alexander and Wendy had no children of their own, only an adopted daughter in Gabriella whom she treated like her own granddaughter.

As for Zayn and Mallory’s son, he was a treasure in Martha’s eyes, but Zayn’s side had its ov family business to pass on. 

The Gale family was the leading name in Slate City’s dining industry. 

Though Zayn seemed carefree enough to pursue a directing career, his father was already molding Leo to be the heir. 

That naturally left Martha and Nicholas feeling anxious. 

Sebastian frowned slightly. 

He was silent for a few moments before he said, “Since our family has adopted so many children, you and Dad can always go to the orphanage to pick an heir. Put the papers under n name and raise him as mine.” 

“You mustn’t say such things!” Martha’s face turned stern for once. “Your father would be livid and try to teach you a lesson if you say that in front of him.” 

Martha said, “You’re perfectly fine, so why are you bringing up adoption? I’m not forcing you If you meet a woman you like, then as long as her family background is clean and decent, we‘ accept it even if she’s from an ordinary household. The Grant family doesn’t care much for these rules.” 

Sebastian was silent for a long time, which gave Martha some hope. “Do you have someone you like?” 

Sebastian rose to his feet. He looked so weary as he said hoarsely, “I’ll head back first. Nemoa’s at home.” 

Martha grabbed his arm and said with some urgency, “So, there is someone? Tell me!” 

“She doesn’t like me,” Sebastian said. Then, he left. 

Martha was stunned. 

Sebastian had always been outstanding. He’d been handsome, tall and gentlemanly since he was a child. What sort of woman could possibly turn him down? 

That night, Martha tossed and turned, finding herself unable to sleep. In the end, she got up and took two pills. 

Though Nicholas often bickered with her, he still grew concerned when he saw her taking medicine. He sat up and asked, “Are you not feeling well? I’ll have the driver take us to the

“Sebastian has a girlfriend,” Martha said after a long silence. 

Nicholas was nearly asleep, but he snapped his eyes wide open and sat up against the headboard. “That’s good news.” 

Martha scoffed. “Good news? He probably saw her for a while, but she decided they weren’t a match and dumped him. Haven’t you noticed his face these past few days? He doesn’t look well at all.” 

Nicholas snorted. “It’s no surprise she dumped him. Who knows? Maybe he keeps that cold face with her, too. Women don’t like men with no warmth to them.” 

Martha said nothing. 

Nicholas went on, “Stop worrying. The fact that he likes someone means he’s straight. It’s only a matter of time until he gets married.” 

For once, Martha thought that Nicholas actually made sense.
