Chapter 189 

Sebastian could almost hear Valeria’s indifferent tone echoing in his mind. 

“Where will you be? Send me the address,” he texted. 

“I’ll be at Aurum,” Valeria replied. That should be the place. She had only heard about it from her colleagues that they were having a gathering there. 

She wasn’t familiar with bars or clubs. 

Just then, Sebastian received a call. 

He glanced at the screen and answered it. 

“Sebastian, are you coming over tonight? I’ve got something urgent here.” 

“I’ll be there later at around 8:00 pm,” he answered. 

Mark had told him he had arranged a gathering at Aurum and asked him to come. What he hadn’t said was that the exorcist he had invited was already there. 

There would be an exorcism for Sebastian in a private room tonight. 

Sebastian first made a stop at the Grants. 

There was a small family dinner tonight, and with Alexander and his family in town, Sebastian couldn’t get out of it. 

The living room was filled with laughter when he walked in. 

Sebastian nodded slightly to a refined–looking middle–aged man. “Hey, Alexander.” 

“You’re back, Sebastian.” Alexander patted his shoulder with a smile. “Perfect timing. Dinner is ready,” 

Sebastian gave the living room a quick look. Seeing all the members of the Grant family were present, he nodded and took a seat. 

“Hi, Sebastian,” Gabriella greeted with a smile. “Why didn’t you bring Nemo? I haven’t seen him in so long.” 

Sebastian didn’t bother to spare Gabriella a glance. He looked at Wendy standing beside her. With a calm gaze, he nodded in greeting. “Hi, Wendy,” 

After that, he said, “I’m heading upstairs.”

Once he was out of sight, Gabriella held onto Wendy’s arm and grumbled, “Mom, why is Sebastian still acting like this? I didn’t mean to kick Nemo back then. 

“Besides, the dog is huge… Also, Sebastian knows Grandpa and Grandma hate dogs, but he still insists on keeping one. At that time, I was scared…” 

“Gabby, don’t bring this up again.” Wendy furrowed her brows. One shouldn’t talk about hating dogs in the Grant residence. 

In fact, one shouldn’t mention anything about that incident. 

“Fine.” Gabriella stomped her foot. “Sabrina is coming over to have dinner with us later. Mom, she’s always wanted to join your team and to become your apprentice. Can’t you just—‘ 

“She doesn’t have the talent. I won’t make exceptions.” Wendy frowned. When it came to this, not even her daughter’s best friend was an exception. 

“But she designed that gown for my performance, and it was perfect…” Gabriella wanted to say more, but when she saw Wendy’s expression, she held her tongue. 

Wendy didn’t want to say anything harsh in front of Gabriella. 

Moreover, if Sebastian were to marry Sabrina, joining the Grant and Lawson families through marriage, their bond would only deepen. By then, she couldn’t possibly expose Sabrina, even though she already knew full well that the Black Swan wasn’t her design. 

Sebastian changed into a more casual outfit and came downstairs. 

When he arrived in the dining room, his brows furrowed. Wasn’t this supposed to be a family 

dinner? 

He instinctively glanced toward Martha. A hint of chill flickered as his brow lifted ever so slightly. 

Martha gave a small wave of denial. She hadn’t invited Sabrina, and she wasn’t about to be held responsible. 

The butler helped Nicholas to the table. 

Sebastian took his seat. 

There weren’t many strict dining rules in the Grant family, but he was naturally reserved. As for Alexander, he was a refined gentleman, but he didn’t talk much during meals either. 

Only Leo and Martha were chatterboxes. 

Leo was fussing about wanting macaroni.

“Macaroni has a high carbohydrate content, so you probably shouldn’t eat too much of it,” Sabrina advised with a smile. 

Leo absolutely hated hearing stuff like that. Chocolate? Way too sweet and bad for one’s teeth. Fried chicken? Terrible for one’s health. It seemed whatever was delicious was deemed unhealthy. 

He didn’t even know the woman before him, so he didn’t appreciate it when she told him what 

not to eat. 

“You’re not the one having it,” he muttered sullenly. 

Mallory pinched his cheek, reminding him to mind his manners. 

Sabrina hadn’t expected a child to talk back like that and could only flash an awkward smile in response. Her gaze softened as it fell on the man sitting across from her. Sebastian was wearing a dark–colored sweater. His shoulders were broad, his posture upright. 

She blushed slightly when she said, “Sebastian, I called you, but you didn’t answer.‘ 

He pulled out his phone and uttered in an icy tone, “Oh, that’s your number? I thought it was spam and blocked it.”
