Immortality 5

Chapter 5 

Thanks to Santiago’s schemes, I had, ironically, found a way to end my immortality–by passing it on. 

Elizabeth survived. But in doing so, she became the new immortal. 

And now, she was bound to relive everything I went through. 

Every time thunder rumbles on a rainy night, agony floods her body like a raging tide. She would writhe in torment, unable to bear the pain- 

For all the deaths I’ve suffered, all the tortures I’ve endured, will now replay themselves through her, day after day. 

Endlessly, 

When Santiago heard my words, he shook his head in disbelief. Still clinging to denial, he kept calling Elizabeth’s name. 

But she no longer responded to him. Her body, her mind–now they listened only to me. 

She stood beside me like an emotionless puppet, cold and obedient. 

Then another clap of thunder rolled again. Along with it, she collapsed. 

Elizabeth crumpled to the ground, her face contorted with horror. 

She began to convulse, trembling violently. 

The first death I ever experienced was beginning inside her. 

She screamed, begged, sobbed in desperation. 

watched silently as her voice echoed with the same helplessness I once knew. 

It was like looking at a younger version of myself–frail, terrified, powerless. 

Santiago panicked. 

He knelt beside her, heartbroken, and reached for her hand–only to be met with two furious laps across the face.

Elizabeth! Elizabeth, look at me! Please, just look at me!” he cried. 

You promised–once you recovered, we’d get married!” 

We picked the venue together… You had your wedding dress custom–made… It was going to be 1 your favorite season! Why are you suddenly like this?!” 

Santiago stared at the engagement ring on her trembling hand, tears slipping down his face like 

lades.

You knew! You knew this would happen to her!”

“You’re twisted! So cruel! You just watched us suffer–watched us struggle after everything we’ve been through?” 

“We were so close… So close! Just one more step and we would’ve had our happy ending. Why couldn’t you let us go? Why couldn’t you give us peace?” 

I laughed–cold, sharp, and bitter. 

I looked at Santiago and wondered: Did he even have a heart? Or was it just a lump of tar, burning only for Elizabeth? 

But if he loved her so deeply, why was that love built on betrayal? 

I turned my gaze to Elizabeth, uncertain whether I should pity her or envy her. 

She scrambled backward in terror. Her limbs flailed, as if invisible chains bound her. 

Her mouth opened in silent screams–stuffed by unseen force. Her body writhed in agony. 

Within minutes, her strength gave out–her body went limp, and she collapsed unconscious onto the floor. 

Santiago rushed forward and held her, frantic, checking her pulse. 

I sighed and said plainly, “She’s not dead. And she won’t die–at least not that easily.” 

“You don’t have to worry. Even if you die a thousand deaths, she still might not.” 

‘What she’s experiencing now, that was my first death.” 

couldn’t even remember how long ago that was. But I knew I was about her age. And I’ve looked exactly like this ever since. 

It was a time of war, chaos, and famine. 

Our people were hunted. My family chose death over betrayal–refusing to align with our enemies. 

We chose destruction to preserve our dignity. 

But the enemy’s cruelty knew no bounds. 

They tortured us in ways no human could endure. 

To protect what was left, our clan leader sacrificed his life to cast an eternal curse–binding mmortality to our bloodline. 

From that day forward, we were no longer human. We were monsters that could never die- envied by the world, feared by ourselves.
