No matter how much Shirley screamed, cried, or did whatever she could to get Tristan’s attention these past few days, he refused to leave the McAllister Manor. 

Finally, Shirley reached her limit. She faked a suicide threat, pushing the situation to the brink and taking it a step further by exposing everything to the media. 

Within hours, the major news outlets were splashing headlines everywhere:

Shirley had no idea that I had long discarded the title she was so desperate to claim.

The McAllisters‘ reputation was in ruins, and Arthur and Eleanor were frantic, trying to repair it. They pressured Tristan to stay away from Shirley, even though she was clearly manipulating him. 

Then came the official statement from the McAllister family: they would accept responsibility for the two illegitimate children. But they made one thing crystal clear, and that was Shirley would never be recognized. If she tried to use the children as leverage, they’d cut all ties.

She dragged me to an abandoned factory, tied me up, and, acting crazy, filmed my restrained state on her phone before sending the video to Tristan. 

“You forced me into this,” she spat, her voice laced with venom. “Since you don’t care about my life, I’ll kill this bitch first! If she hadn’t come back, our lives would’ve been fine. She’s the root o all our problems!” 

She continued, crazed, “Tristan, you don’t want her dead? Fine. The only way is to divorce her anc marry me!” 

I laughed, but it was cold. “Shirley, let me tell you a secret.” 

Her expression shifted, curiosity replacing the fury in her eyes. “What secret?” 

I leaned in, voice steady, unshaken by her threats. 

“I’ve been divorced from Tristan for over a year. I’m already married to Felix. And my son’s fathe is Felix. So, there’s no need for you to wait for me to divorce him before you can take the position.” 

Her face froze, disbelief clouding her features, but I didn’t stop as I continued, “Although I’m divorced and my son isn’t a McAllister, Arthur and Eleanor have already transferred all their assets to my son. Even Tristan gave him 40%.” 

Seeing Shirley’s discombobulated face, I pressed on, “Actually, all of this wealth originally belonged to my family. After my parents passed away, they entrusted the management of our family’s assets to the McAllisters. I just found a way to take it back.” 

Shirley stood there, completely shocked, staring at me in disbelief. Her hand still held the machete, but even she was beginning to lose her confidence. 

“You lying bitch! Are you trying to trick me?!” she hissed, her voice quivering slightly. 

I smiled wryly, unaffected by the anger she was projecting. 

“As a mom, I understand you,” I said calmly. “Right now, you’re focused on securing a good future for your children. However, you need to consider the consequences carefully. If you decide to kill me, you will become a murderer. The laws of our country state that murderers must pay with their lives. A smart person like you should understand that.”
