The king’s words echoed loudly across the chamber, sealing a promise that none could challenge.

The weight of his declaration settled heavily in the room, and all eyes instinctively shifted toward Tyler, awaiting his choice.
However, before Tyler could speak, a sharp movement caught everyone’s attention.
The first daughter’s face twisted ever so slightly, unable to hide the sheer disgust simmering
inside her.
Even though she kept her chin high, and her handkerchief still pressed delicately against her nose, the disdain in her eyes spoke louder than any words.
To her, Tyler was still nothing more than a filthy commoner, a man born from dirt, who didn’t deserve to walk the same halls she graced, let alone touch her hand in marriage.
Even now, even after witnessing the miracle he performed, she could not bring herself to feel anything but contempt.
Healing her father? So what? In her heart, Tyler was unworthy too lowly, too disgraceful to ever be considered part of her noble bloodline.
At that moment her posture grew stiffer, her nose wrinkling as if his very presence offended her royal senses.
Now the room was heavy with tension, yet she showed nothing but pure coldness.
On the other side, the second daughter sat quietly, her demeanor was the complete opposite.
She didn’t show disgust, She didn’t look away.
She didn’t cover her nose, Instead, she remained calm, composed her back straight, her hands. folded neatly in her lap.
There was even a soft, subtle smile tucked into the corners of her lips, and her bright, gentle eyes carried a calm, respectful kindness when they looked at Tyler.
She made no grand gestures, no demands, no arrogance, She simply sat there, watching quietly.
The king, seeing Tyler’s silence, cleared his throat and spoke again, his voice firm but fair.
“If you choose my second daughter,” he explained, “you will not become king.”
He gestured toward the gentler princess with an open hand.
“But you will be part of the royal family. You will enjoy the privileges, the respect, and the protection that comes with it.”
The king’s words were clear, the choice seemed obvious.
Both the king and Edda, standing silently by the side, shared a similar thought.
Anybody in their right mind would pick the first daughter.

After all, who wouldn’t want to become the king? Who wouldn’t want power, wealth, and the throne? Surely, anyone would seize the opportunity immediately.
Surely, anyone would bow their head and grab the crown with both hands.
At that moment Everyone waited for Tyler’s response.
However the first daughter, despite her disgust, held her breath slightly, confident that Tyler like everyone else would jump at the chance to pick her, which was something she doesn’t
want.
The second daughter remained still, her eyes gentle but unreadable.
But then, Tyler spoke.
His voice was calm, even, without hesitation.
And his words struck the room like a silent earthquake.
“I am not interested,” Tyler said simply.
He paused, his eyes steady, scanning both princesses without a hint of greed or longing.
“I am not interested in either of them.”
At that moment the silence that followed Tyler’s words was unlike any silence the royal chamber had ever known.
It wasn’t the peaceful kind it was the staggered, breathless kind.
The kind that followed an explosion, where the smoke still lingered, and no one was quite sure what just happened.
Immediately the king blinked slowly, as if he hadn’t heard correctly.
Edda, frozen in place, stared at Tyler with wide eyes, his lips slightly parted in pure disbelief.
Even the two princesses who were so different in attitude found themselves struck by the unexpected.
The first daughter, still seated with her handkerchief slightly lowered, blinked twice as if someone had slapped her. Her mouth opened slightly, a flash of offense and disbelief washing across her regal face.
And the second daughter… even her calm smile faded for a moment, her expression turning into quiet shock.
Tyler stood in the middle of it all calm, grounded, untouched by the waves of royal expectation crashing around him.
At that moment the king was the first to speak, his voice slower now, uncertain.
“You… you’re saying… you’re not interested?”
CHAPTER 23
As if the very idea was foreign to him.
Edda stepped forward quickly, clearly trying to fill the space with understanding.
His voice came out slightly higher than usual, almost cracking with disbelief.
“Are you serious about what you just said?” he asked, eyebrows raised, “You rejected the king’s offer?”
He looked around, as if needing someone to confirm this was real.

“You do you know what’s at stake here?” Edda asked again, stepping closer to Tyler. “You could marry into the royal family. You could rule. You could wear the crown! This isn’t just any offer this is history–changing!”
His hands moved as he spoke, as if trying to physically shake some sense into the moment.
“And you’re turning it down?”
At that moment Tyler looked at him, not with
anger.
Not with pride, Just calm truth.
“Yes,” he said.
The single word landed like a stone in water.
Then Edda’s breath caught again. The king was still staring, mouth set, trying to decide whether this was boldness… or madness.
But Tyler didn’t hesitate.
“I heard everything the king said,” he said, voice steady and respectful. “And I understand exactly what’s been offered.”
He looked toward the king now.
His eyes were direct not filled with greed, nor ambition but quiet strength.
“But I didn’t come here for any reward,” Tyler said. “I didn’t heal you for a prize or a crown.”
Immediately the king’s brows furrowed, his mouth tight.
Even the first daughter lowered her handkerchief now, finally paying attention.
Tyler continued.
“I came here because my mother suffered in front of me, and knowing I have the ability to help someone in need to free her, that was why I came.”
He paused for a second. Then added firmly
“And if Your Majesty truly wants to reward me… then please.”

He lowered his head slightly not in weakness, but as a man making a direct, heartfelt appeal.
“In replacement of your reward, Just grant me one request.”
