Chapter 25

Spencer had never been in a relationship before, but he seemed to know far more than Seraphina. That small gesture alone sent shivers down her spine. leaving her weak and wanting.

After that, Spencer didn’t give her another chance to speak,

For three whole days, Seraphina didn’t leave the hotel room. The only sign of life was the occasional moan that could be heard from outside the door.

But this was the presidential suite floor, and Spencer had booked the entire thing. No one could get up there.

Because Seraphina was exhausted, they stayed in Westwood for another two days before preparing to return to New York.

On the day they were leaving, Caspian and Mr. Anderson were standing at the hotel entrance.

Although she hadn’t left the room, she had heard what happened to Thalia.

It was revealed that the baby wasn’t Caspian’s.

And Thalia had been committed to a mental hospital by Caspian.

Because Caspian had been kicked out of Kingsley Corp., the Anderson Group had suffered as well. In just a few days, it was teetering on the brink of bankruptcy

In just two days, Caspian looked ten years older.

But there was no pity in Seraphina’s eyes. He had brought this on himself.

Spencer’s eyes darkened. He was about to signal the bodyguards to deal with them, but Seraphina stopped him.

“This should be the last time I ever see them. Let me go over and say a few final words.”

Though Spencer was a little jealous, he nodded. “Do you want me to go with you?”

“No, I can go by myself.”

Seraphina slowly walked over to Mr. Anderson. From a distance, she could see tears in his eyes.

‘Seraphina, I’ve heard everything.”

‘Congratulations on finding your family.”

Seraphina’s expression was indifferent. “If that’s all you came to say, you can go now.”

Seraphina turned to leave, but Mr. Anderson quickly held out a gift box, his arm trembling slightly. “Seraphina, I brought you your favorite chocolate. Do you

want some?”

Suddenly, Seraphina’s eyes grew misty.

In her first year with the Anderson family, he had treated her wonderfully, giving her all sorts of good things.

Knowing she loved chocolate, he would bring her back special varieties from his business trips. That year was the happiest of her childhood.

But the second year, Thalia returned, and their attitude towards her changed instantly.

She never got to eat chocolate again. She had thought he’d forgotten. But he hadn’t. He had remembered all along, he just hadn’t cared enough to give it to her.

In this moment, Seraphina felt a sense of release, as if she was finally making peace with her former self.

“I used to love these things. But now that I can have them whenever I want, I find I no longer do.”

“Dad, this is the last time I’ll call you that. Thank you for adopting me.”

“Don’t worry. No matter what happens to the Anderson Group, I will support you in your old age. I will send you alimony every month, in the amount stipulated by law, until the day you die.”

Mr. Anderson’s body was stooped, and he trembled uncontrollably. “Seraphina, you hate me, don’t you?”

Seraphina replied, “I did. But not anymore.”

“In fact, I’m grateful to you now. If you hadn’t forced me to divorce Caspian, I never would have ended up with Spencer.”

Mr. Anderson couldn’t say another word.

Caspian stood to the side, looking at her with deep affection and regret in his eyes.

“Seraphina, I hope you’ll be happy.”

Seraphina said with certainty, “Don’t worry. I’m infinitely happier than I ever was with you.”

“Mr. Anderson, Mr. Kingsley. This should be the last time we meet. From now on, let’s stay out of each other’s lives.”

With that, Seraphina left without a backward glance.

The past held no happy memories for her, and she had no desire to dwell on it.

Caspian watched her retreating back, tears streaming down his face.

This time, he had truly lost her, and there was no getting her back.

Returning to Spencer’s side, Seraphina linked her arm with his and leaned against him coquettishly.

‘Mr. Hayes, I have my divorce decree. Shall we go get our marriage license?”

Spencer turned and smiled.

‘Let’s go get our license.”
