Chapter 19 

Hearing his words, Seraphina was stunned for a few seconds. 

She knew how proud a man Spencer was, yet here he was, sounding so insecure. 

Fearing what her answer might be, Spencer spoke first, his voice tight. 

“Seraphina, I could accept it if you chose Caspian over me now. But I can’t accept you abandoning me after you’ve already chosen me.” 

“Can you not go to the shareholders’ meeting today?” 

Although Seraphina kept saying she was completely over Caspian, if that were true, why make a special trip to Westwood just for this meeting? 

Looking at Spencer’s vulnerable expression, Seraphina was reminded of herself three years ago. 

Three years ago, Thalia had gone abroad. 

And every month, Caspian would fly out to see her. Back then, Seraphina had asked him the same thing. “Can you not go?” 

His answer had been no. 

But this time, Seraphina looked at Spencer and said earnestly. 

I have to go to the meeting today. But it’s not to get back together with Caspian. It’s to get revenge for all the years of pain he caused me.” 

she was no saint. She would repay the hurt that Caspian and Thalia had inflicted upon her, twofold. 

Then, Seraphina stood on her tiptoes and cupped his face in her hands. 

‘Spencer, I chose you. I’m not going to choose anyone else. As long as you’re faithful to me, I will never leave you.” 

This was her promise to him. 

For the past three years, she, like him, had lived every day in a state of anxiety. She understood his fear, and she would give him the security he needed. 

One second, Spencer’s heart was pounding with uncertainty. The next, after hearing her assurance, a slow smile spread across his lips. 

I believe you. No matter what you say, I’ll believe you.” 

But if you’re going for revenge, just having the shares won’t be enough. I’ll make some calls for you.”

Caspian had just arrived at the office when he got a call from his assistant. 

Mr. Kingsley, there’s a problem. Thalia refused the procedure. She’s run off.” 

Caspian yanked at his tie in frustration, his eyes dark. “Find her, I want her found, dead or alive. Understood? That baby cannot be born.”

ust as Caspian walked into his office, he saw Thalia sitting in his chair. 

Her morning sickness had been severe lately, and her cheeks were gaunt. 

Seeing her, Caspian’s expression soured. “What are you doing here?” He demanded. “Didn’t I arrange for your abortion?” 

Thalia stiffened. She never imagined he could say the word “abortion” so casually. 

If this had been three years ago, she would have walked away without a second thought. 

But now, her reputation was in tatters. No one in their circle would marry her. 

Her father had also given her an ultimatum: win Caspian back, or she would be kicked out of the family. 

Thalia took a deep breath, her fists clenching, and pulled a medical report from her purse. 

Her voice was firm. “I’m not getting rid of this baby.” 

Caspian’s eyes were glacial, sending a shiver down her spine, but she held her ground. 

“When we were kids, I injured my uterus saving you. The doctor said if I terminate this pregnancy, I’ll never be able to have children again.” 

“Caspian, you can love Seraphina all you want, but you can’t deny that I saved your life back then. You can’t repay kindness with cruelty!” 

Instantly, Caspian’s expression changed. 

He had anticipated she would use many tactics to keep the child, but he had never imagined this. 

Even though he no longer loved her, the fact that she had saved his life as a child was true. 

Seeing his resolve waver, Thalia seized the opportunity, rushing forward to grab his hand. 

‘Caspian, give up on Seraphina. She’s been gone for so long and hasn’t contacted you once. She’s probably already found someone else. I’m the only one who’s always been by your side.” 

‘And now I’m carrying your child. Let’s just live our lives together, okay?” 

Thalia’s grip on his hand tightened. 

But he pried her fingers off one by one, his face expressionless. “I do want to settle down, but not with you.” 

It was like a lightning strike. Thalia’s knees went weak, and she nearly collapsed. 

she couldn’t believe the man who had once loved her to the bone was saying this. 

t had only been two weeks, but when he looked at her now, there was no love left in his eyes, only disgust. 

Caspian’s heart-wrenching words continued, “The reason Seraphina and I are in this mess is largely thanks to you and your father. The fact that I’m even letting he Anderson Group-and you-continue to exist should be reason enough for you to be grateful.” 

Before, Caspian would never have said a single harsh word to her, but now. 

After a long pause, Caspian finally made his decision. 

Keep the baby or don’t, I don’t care. But I will never acknowledge it. If you want it to be born without a father, then go ahead and have it. The choice is yours.”
