Chapter 21

Roxanne led Novex Technologies in a fullscale assault against the Frey Group

Backed by the immense financial strength coming from Airville, Frey Group found itself suffocating. Louis wanted to step onto the battlefield personally, but Stanley stopped him

Dad, I owe Rox this. As long as she’s happy, what’s a little money?”

That was the first time Louis slapped Stanley, and he struck so hard that it left Stanley’s face swollen

and red

You idiot! She’s only going after Frey Group’s core, legitimized businesses. Why do you think she’s not touching our lessthanlegal operations? Why on earth do I have a son as idiotic as you? If Oliver were still here, he’d never behave like you, sacrificing the future of our entire family for a woman.”

At the mention of Oliver, Louisface clouded with sorrow

Hearing his father’s words, rage surged through Stanley. He’s already dead, and you’re still thinking about him. But what about me? I’ve worked so hard and listened to every ridiculous thing you’ve ever saidand you’re still comparing me to Oliver? He’s dead, Dad! I’m your only son now! I’m the one calling the shots at Frey Group right now. Roxanne is my wife, and if I want to give her those businesses, then I will!”

Louis sneered. Are you sure you’re giving it to her? Stanley, you can’t even hold your own against a woman. You’d be better off going to the hospital, getting your illness treated, and giving me a grandson.”

His words pushed Stanley over the edge. His mind buzzed with fury as he stared at his father, who was still mocking him relentlessly. In a fit of rage, he lashed out

Stanley was carried out of the building and rushed straight to the emergency room at the hospital

The fact that Louis was beaten so badly by his own son that he suffered a brain hemorrhage was shameful, so the Freys kept it under lock and key. But, there was no such thing as an airtight secret

Rumors of the Frey family’s impending collapse somehow began to spread like wildfire. Overnight, the sales at their most profitable jewelry stores plummeted. The casinos under their company also came under investigation one after another, and their profits nosedived as well

Moone Group, which usually kept its distance, seized the opportunity to kick them while they were down, wanting to get a piece of the pie from their shady business operations

Stanley was completely overwhelmed. The man who rarely ever fell ill came down with two serious bouts of sickness and lost a considerable amount of weight

However, he persisted in messaging Roxanne every day. She never replied, but she hadn’t blocked him either. He still adamantly believed that there was still love between them, and once Roxanne was done with her tantrum, she would return to him

And when Novex Technologies merged into Frey Group then, no one would dare gossip behind his back ever again

While Stanley was dreaming about the future, Roxanne’s plans continued to unfold methodically. She first directed Novex to absorb Frey Group’s largest legitimate revenue sources, while also having Quinn suggest to Alfred that they take the opportunity to devour the Frey family’s shady assets

The results were undeniable. Frey Group, which had once held an edge over Novex, was soon

stretched too thin

As for Stanley’s messages, they shifted from disgusting sweet talk to asking her when she would return. The only reason Roxanne hadn’t blocked him yet was to keep a sliver of hope alive in his

heart

Even though Novex had the financial backing of her parents and brother, crumbling a centuryold giant like Frey Group still required some extraordinary measures

For instance, today was the day of Macy’s Csection

Roxanne arrived at the hospital with a dozen bodyguards and three young boys in tow

From Kidnap to Collapse: I’ll Ruin Their Paradise

Status: Ongoing

1. Promised forever

Roxanne Reid endures a brutal labor and finally delivers by C-section. Between pain and delirium she swears she will cherish this child for the rest of her life — the baby becomes the promise that will define her future.

2. The baby is gone

When she wakes from surgery, the baby is nowhere to be found. Panic spikes through her like a physical blow: all the relief and tenderness she expected after birth vanish the moment the cot is empty.

3. The betrayal revealed

Her husband Stanley Frey calmly informs her the baby has been given away — not to a charity, not to an adoption agency, but to Macy, Oliver’s fiancée. The news lands like betrayal: he made the decision without her consent.

4. Roxanne fights through pain to demand answers

Bruised and exhausted from two days of labor, Roxanne forces herself up and demands to know where their child is. Her voice trembles with pain and fury; this is a mother’s instinct colliding with the realization of being overruled.

5. Stanley’s cold justification

Stanley explains — almost mechanically — that the Frey family “owes” Macy because Oliver died, and giving her the baby is repayment or compensation. He frames it as kindness, family duty, and social obligation rather than theft.

6. Anger, disbelief, isolation

Roxanne is stunned and rage fills her. The rationalizations infuriate her: Macy “sacrificed” for the family, so she should have a child. Roxanne realizes she’s been isolated — even her husband now treats her like an obstacle, not a partner.

7. Flashback to their courtship

The chapter flashes back: Stanley once pursued Roxanne relentlessly for two years, learned her likes, and won her heart. She loved him enough to cut ties with her own family. Their marriage once seemed unbreakable — he had promised she was the one line he’d never cross.

8. The line crossed

Everything shifted after Oliver’s death and Macy’s arrival. The man who vowed constancy now crosses the line and makes decisions that betray Roxanne’s trust. What was once devotion turns into cold calculation under family pressure.

9. A desperate ultimatum

When Stanley prepares to rush to Macy’s side — “she’s a first-time mom, she needs help” — Roxanne, through pain, grabs his sleeve and threatens divorce if he doesn’t bring the baby back. It’s a raw, vulnerable demand born of love and righteous fury.

10. Threats, power, and a cliffhanger

Stanley sneers and seizes control of the phone; he belittles her concerns as romantic-novel dramatics and warns her not to push him. He reminds her, chillingly, that he’s capable of taking action against her. The chapter ends with Roxanne reeling from betrayal and the reader left on a tense cliff — will she fight him, or be crushed by the family machinery?
