Chapter 11

As soon as Macy heard the word kidnappers, she shivered all over, her sobs quieting considerably

The door opened, and the leader of the kidnappers kneeled on the floor, bruised and battered. Seeing Stanley, he seemed to spot a savior, rushing forward to grab his leg and wail

Mr. Frey, it’s my fault! I shouldn’t have kidnapped Ms. Reid and Ms. Shaw! Do whatever you want to me. You can kill me or tear me apart, but please don’t send me back!”

Stanley disdainfully kicked him but said nothing. His men had searched for hours with no trace of the kidnappers, and now, someone had captured them and delivered them straight to him

Who exactly was behind this

Who’s the mastermind behind this kidnapping?he asked in a deep, commanding voice

No matter the intentions of the person who brought the kidnapper here, what he wanted to know

most was who had initially orchestrated the abduction of Roxanne and Macy

The mastermind had known his identity and still dared to challenge him! A flood of thoughts on how to make the mastermind pay violently crossed his mind

The kidnapper stared straight at Macy and shouted, Ms. Shaw ordered me to do everything! She

told me to take the child and kidnap them. We were just following Ms. Shaw’s instructions

Mr. Frey, I’ve told you everything. Can you spare my life?”

At these words, Stanley, Louis, and Sapphire all turned to look at Macy

Louis and Sapphire were in utter disbelief. Macy was a good woman. How could she possibly have orchestrated a kidnapping? This must be that scheming Roxanne framing her

But for Stanley, hearing this hit him like a thunderbolt

He remembered what he had overlooked. With the Frey family’s intelligence network in Brindley, it was impossible not to find a single person in two hours

Could this further prove that Roxanne wasn’t the one staging the kidnapping as Macy claimed…

Perhaps, Roxanne was already in danger

He kicked the man down and grabbed him by the throat, asking, Where is my wife? Where did you take her?”

The kidnapper cried and begged, Ms. Shaw already had someone take Ms. Reid away! I don’t know! I really don’t know! I was just paid to do the job!”

Macy clenched her fists nervously, forcing herself to stay calm. What are you talking about?”

Sapphire spoke up just then. This isn’t another scene staged by Roxanne in front of us, is it? Macy

has been home the whole time. How could she have had a chance to do what the kidnapper is claiming?”

Macy nodded repeatedly, then looked nervously at Stanley. Stanley, he’s lying! Roxanne has framed me out of jealousy before. You mustn’t be fooled this time

She probably latched onto some old guy for protection, and that’s why your men haven’t been able to find her”

She didn’t dare finish the sentence. Seeing Stanley’s bloodshot eyes, she was terrified. StanleyPlease don’t look at me like this. I’m scared.”

He seemed to finally realize something and asked in a hoarse voice, Macyhave you been deceiving me?”

He advanced step by step, and she retreated in fear. You’ve been misleading me from the very start, haven’t you

I’m Rox’s only support in Brindley. Who else could’ve taken the baby? Macy, looking back realize you’ve been leading me around by the nose all day.”

now

Veins bulging on his forehead, his temples throbbed. Everything that had happened today replayed

in his mind like a fastforwarded movie. What on earth had he done

He’d pushed his wife, fresh out of a Csection, to the point where her stitches tore. He’d forced her

still bleeding and weak, to look for their child. And when it came to the kidnapping, he’d chosen the unscathed Macy

And now, the real culprit, Macy, was hiding in the airconditioned room, trying to frame Roxanne

If it weren’t for Macy’s line about Roxanne latching onto some old guy for protection , he might still be in the dark! He knew Roxanne had a physical affection for him and was fastidious

She loved him so much. How could she have sought out some old man

If she had been with him for money, she wouldn’t have ever broken ties with her family

Thinking of this, his heart raced

Roxanne’s life was still uncertain. If her family found out, even with him ruling over Brindley like a king and even with Roxanne’s love for him, the Reid family would surely intervene and forcibly take

her away

Macy, where did you hide Rox?His voice was full of fury and anxiety

Chapter 12

From Kidnap to Collapse: I’ll Ruin Their Paradise

From Kidnap to Collapse: I’ll Ruin Their Paradise

Status: Ongoing

1. Promised forever

Roxanne Reid endures a brutal labor and finally delivers by C-section. Between pain and delirium she swears she will cherish this child for the rest of her life — the baby becomes the promise that will define her future.

2. The baby is gone

When she wakes from surgery, the baby is nowhere to be found. Panic spikes through her like a physical blow: all the relief and tenderness she expected after birth vanish the moment the cot is empty.

3. The betrayal revealed

Her husband Stanley Frey calmly informs her the baby has been given away — not to a charity, not to an adoption agency, but to Macy, Oliver’s fiancée. The news lands like betrayal: he made the decision without her consent.

4. Roxanne fights through pain to demand answers

Bruised and exhausted from two days of labor, Roxanne forces herself up and demands to know where their child is. Her voice trembles with pain and fury; this is a mother’s instinct colliding with the realization of being overruled.

5. Stanley’s cold justification

Stanley explains — almost mechanically — that the Frey family “owes” Macy because Oliver died, and giving her the baby is repayment or compensation. He frames it as kindness, family duty, and social obligation rather than theft.

6. Anger, disbelief, isolation

Roxanne is stunned and rage fills her. The rationalizations infuriate her: Macy “sacrificed” for the family, so she should have a child. Roxanne realizes she’s been isolated — even her husband now treats her like an obstacle, not a partner.

7. Flashback to their courtship

The chapter flashes back: Stanley once pursued Roxanne relentlessly for two years, learned her likes, and won her heart. She loved him enough to cut ties with her own family. Their marriage once seemed unbreakable — he had promised she was the one line he’d never cross.

8. The line crossed

Everything shifted after Oliver’s death and Macy’s arrival. The man who vowed constancy now crosses the line and makes decisions that betray Roxanne’s trust. What was once devotion turns into cold calculation under family pressure.

9. A desperate ultimatum

When Stanley prepares to rush to Macy’s side — “she’s a first-time mom, she needs help” — Roxanne, through pain, grabs his sleeve and threatens divorce if he doesn’t bring the baby back. It’s a raw, vulnerable demand born of love and righteous fury.

10. Threats, power, and a cliffhanger

Stanley sneers and seizes control of the phone; he belittles her concerns as romantic-novel dramatics and warns her not to push him. He reminds her, chillingly, that he’s capable of taking action against her. The chapter ends with Roxanne reeling from betrayal and the reader left on a tense cliff — will she fight him, or be crushed by the family machinery?
