Chapter 10
Stanley said, “Mom, Dad, why are you joining in on this nonsense, too? I’m not divorcing Rox. I only treat Macy that way because of Oliver. She and I have never had any romantic feelings for each other.
Stanley was shocked by Louis‘ and Sapphire’s absurd idea. He had only slept two hours, and they had come all this way to try to set him up with Macy?
Could it be that something had happened to the child he had with Roxanne?
He quickly called his subordinates and was told another team was also searching for the child. And that team had actually found the baby before them, even taking the child off Brindley.
“How could you handle things like this? It’s such a huge matter, and you didn’t think of telling me?” His subordinate stammered for a long moment before speaking, “I called, but Ms. Shaw said you were sleeping and told us not to disturb you.”
Stanley glanced at Macy beside himself, whose face was full of innocence, just as a white flash seemed to pass through his mind.
Suddenly, he realized that ever since Macy and Roxanne had been kidnapped together, Macy hadn’t seemed worried at all about the missing child.
What had he overlooked? No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t recall that crucial piece of information.
Meanwhile, Macy looked at Louis and Sapphire with a hint of grievance. “Sapphire, Louis, I’m just worried about Stanley. Everyone says giving birth is hard for women, but I saw Stanley stay up three days and nights taking care of Roxanne. He had it harder.
“But Roxanne has to make things difficult. First, she framed me, and when Stanley saw through it, she took the baby away.
“When Stanley forced her to find the baby, she got jealous and had someone kidnap me. Luckily, Stanley cares about me. Otherwise, I would’ve…”
In just a few sentences, she recounted the entire day’s events.
Louis and Sapphire frowned more deeply as they listened. “Stanley, why are you still protecting such an ill–mannered wife like Roxanne?
“Macy, come here. Didn’t you want to have a child for the Frey family? Have the baby with Stanley.”
Hearing Sapphire’s words, Macy’s heart raced. She had been planning and lying low for so long, and today, she was finally about to achieve her goal. As expected, once that foolish Roxanne was out of the way, Stanley would be hers.
Blushing, she lowered her head and murmured, “I’ll do whatever you say. I’m already a daughter–in

-law of the Frey family. It doesn’t matter who I bear children for.”
Sapphire nodded approvingly. She had long disliked Roxanne, who came from a lowly background.
And tonight was the perfect chance. Once Stanley spent the night with Macy, he’d finally stop holding on to that pauper in his heart.
The more Stanley heard, the more uneasy he became.
“I don’t agree!” He frowned, looking seriously at the three of them. “Rox is my wife.
“Rest assured. Even if we can’t find the child, I’ll have another with Rox to pass on to Oliver. As long
as I’m here, Oliver won’t be left without an heir. So Mom, don’t make such ridiculous demands again!

Sapphire glared at him in frustration, then shoved Macy into his arms. “Stanley, don’t forget that your name’s on the marriage certificate with Macy’s. You two are the official couple. Having a child together is completely legal and proper.”
Although Stanley had two weddings held at the same location, his wedding with Roxanne hadn’t been officiated by a minister and was not legally formal. But his wedding with Macy had been officiated by the most authoritative minister in Brindley.
Therefore, Stanley’s only legitimate wife had always been Macy.
“Stanley, if you don’t want to, it’s fine.” Macy choked up. “I can live the rest of my life alone. At worst, I’ll die earlier and go to heaven to be with Oliver sooner.”
Macy cried pitifully, and Stanley felt his resolve waver.
Roxanne was the woman he had truly loved. He couldn’t accept her disappearing from his life. But Oliver had been his beloved younger brother, and Macy was the sister–in–law he had always acknowledged from the very beginning.
When Oliver was in the late stages of illness, Stanley and his parents were busy with work and couldn’t spend enough time with him.
It was Macy who stayed by Oliver’s side, giving him the last happy moments of his life…
The Frey family owed her too much.
Fine.
He would yield one last time. As long as Macy carried a child for the Frey family, he would turn all his attention back to Roxanne.
After all, he owed Roxanne a lot, too…
Just as he was about to agree, there was a knock at the door. “Mr. Frey, we’ve captured the
kidnappers who took Ms. Roxanne and Ms. Macy back then.”
